The WFAN crew was opining that because it is VERY windy today at Wrigley it could speel doom for Dickey's knuckler and success for Zambrano's fast ball.

Boo! Trade talk in the IGT! Booooooo!

It's not an IGT until there's a G.

I heard Ed Coleman asking someone for a phone number on my audio feed when they went to WFAN during the delay. 45 seconds of awesome conversation.

Ohh, and now he's taking questions but I can't hear the callers. Only Ed comes through on the audio.

I would've considered switching Dickey and Cap anyway to dazzle the Phils, you'd almost have to consider it with the rain.

I'll take Jeremy Guthrie for Rodriguez, is that what you're asking?

(PS, maybe this discussion oughta be separated from the game thread)

probably, bu i don't have those powers.

going forward, i'd certainly trade frankie for jeremy guthrie, or a jon niese clone. as frustrating and somewhat disappointing as jon niese has been this year, his contributions to the mets this year are of equal value as a dominant frankie rodriguez.

the important thing is that there are some 150 players in the majors who can give at least as much value as frankie rodriguez. and even if we traded him away for noone major league ready, it shouldn't cost the team significantly more than 1.5 wins this very season.

on the other hand, jose reyes is a much more difficult player to replace, and it is much less likely that we will be able to replace his production either at shortstop or on the roster as a whole.

meanwhile Phillies Reds in the bottom of the 6th. tied at 4, bases loaded, no one out, Cliff Lee sucks is up, hits a ground-rule double...bleh.

Mike Martinez sac fly. 7-4 Phillies.

Reds leaving this Thompson guy out there to hang himself.

I'm sorry. I just went for a piss. Did Jose's speed just terrify the Cubs into making two errors on one play?

Not really.
He had stopped at 2nd but a sloppy relay sent him to third (where he should have been out - stupid chance actually) but then that throw got away and he pranced home.
E on RF for the first throw, E on 2B for the second one
A classic "little league HR".

Dam. Pickoff Campana right when Cub announcers are boasting on how fast he is.

Hey, Mets, let's win this one for Professor Brand.

Yeah, I was just playin'. Cheapie run on a 2B, E, E that gets us back for a supposed blown call at first in the second.

Dickey hurt?

Looks like it too.

I'm thinking maybe one less guy will be climbing Kilimanjaro this winter.

Wayne's call was awful on that play. Was Dickey racing to cover first because Muffy didn't cover but should have?

If he can't climb down a mound, Kilimanjaro would be impossible.

*sigh* Maybe it's not serious? It's the Pirates next..you can beat them on one leg..

Sounded to me like Muffy was going for the ball between him and Tejada and it was Dickey's bag to cover...he just slipped on the wet ground.
