There's a cranky old bastard at my gym who always wears either a "Got Rings?" "Yankee universe" or "Ruth Gehrig Dimaggio Mantle" t-shirt. I rarely speak to him. Today he was wearing the "Got Rings?" shirt.

So as I walked passed him I blurted out: "Got Turner?"

I'd be tempted to approach the guy and say, yes, you've got rings.... ring around the collar!

And then everyone else in the gym would start chanting "Ring around the collar! Ring around the collar!"

I too was flabbergasted the first time I was at Busch Stadium and saw that.

Where I come from "ring" is a euphemism for asshole.

Thus, the slogan makes perfect sense.
