Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Kevin Burkhardt: CF, great IGT win again last night. Tell me how you were able to get the job done tonight.CF: Well Kev, it's simple really. Just had a gameplan, thought about what I wanted to do beforehand, you know, caps lock for the "IGT", numerical date, and then just sit down and execute my typestrokes.KB: The team is 4-1 when you start the IGT, 2-12 in all other games. How have you been so successful this year when the other posters are scuffling a bit?CF: You know, I just don't think about, you know, the other guys. It's my job to go out there and be the stopper and that's what I'm doing.KB: There's been some rumors that this has caused friction between you and your fellow posters, is there any truth to this?CF: No, not at all man. I just want to win. I'm all about winning. You know me, I'm not a selfish center kind of guy. I just go out there and win.KB: There's been some criticism that you don't go deep into your threads. At one point last night, Ashie had three straight posts, some heavy lifting by Edgy and LFWS...CF: Look, I get the job done. Ok? Are those guys 4-1? I don't think so. KB: Of course. Thanks CF, guys, back to...CF: And you know what, I heard the crap they were saying about me being one-dimensional and all, you know what? I'm not here to predict the NCAA, or guess classic rock. Ok? So what I don't take any fucking pictures. All that shit was going on, and here we are and I'm the only one winning. I'm all about the wins. Always have been. Are they the King? No, I'm the fucking King. MY NAME IS MY NAME.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 "Back to you... guys!" Nice going CF.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Author Posted April 22, 2011 It makes me so happy when I meet another fan of the Wire.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Really, I was a little "bleh" about Marlo/Jamie Hector as a character/an actor right up until that holding cell scene. I'd thought him menacing enough, but not with any sort of depth or energy-- he was just sort of spookily blank until he took that slight personally. Some King Lear-quality raging, there.Ejection notwithstanding, I'm still waiting for Terry's "My Name Is My Name" moment.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I'm off to Citi. Pridie will be what..909? 913? I don't remember what we're up to.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Two starts in a row for Nickeas. A reward for his Homeric greatness yesterday? Something up with Thole?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Trying to give him a litle more protection against lefties, I guess.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Now they are going to fuck with Thole???
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I wouldn't interpret it that way.How about Pridie? Beating 79-1 odds!

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Generous scoring prevent Pridie from getting an error on his first play.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Shoulda been an error on Pridie for the bobble.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 First time with the black jerseys at home this season? I can't recall.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Bay double makes him something like 7-for-9 lifetime against Saunders.OE: 5-for-9, with 2 HRs, a walk, and that double.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 And that's what happens when you call up a guy hitting .196 in the minors.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Walk to Nickeas leaves two on with two out, and sets the stage for a potentially-auspicious Orville debut. He demurs.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Wright drops a popup and Young looks worse for not Baying it to second.Yes, Jason Bay is synonymous with hustle.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Defense giveth, defense taketh. Ya been Nicked, Chris Young the Lesser.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Not to be dickish, but didn't they say Pridie was here for his defense?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Den Dekker woulda gotten 'at.
