It's a better move for Texas than Toronto, although Napoli wasn't a great fit it Toronto because of Arencibia. Napoli's no Piazza, but I can't see how his glove hurts more than his bat helps.

Bartolo Colon to the Yankees. Between him and Sabathia, they're going to owe luxury tax just on their clubhouse catering bills alone.

What does Cashman think of the move?

Elbow and hip injuries in the last two years... but with a career 3.13 ERA, 139 ERA+, 2.87 K/BB ratio, and good experience in both the rotation (32 starts, 3.01 ERA, 1.10 WHIP) and the pen (where he's had three separate seasons of 1.5+ WAR). He's 32, and there was a depression issue the last year or two. But he's damn good, and damn versatile... and can probably be signed for a fairly budget-friendly 1-2 year deal.

Why isn't Justin Duchschereron Team Alderson's radar?

And a "Chris Young deal"-- 700K guaranteed, 1.1M if he makes the roster, up to 3.4M in bonuses--was what he took. With Bawl'mer.

I've always liked that guy, thought Omar should've looked into getting him last year even. With the talk of maybe Capuano to the pen, he could have the fifth spot with Gee being wing-eating depth.

Big Bad Vlad is an Oriole. Vladimir Guerrero agrees to a one year ($8 mil.) deal to be the Orioles clean up hitting DH.

Wow. The luster's come off of this penny.

He had one good second half in Washington in '08 and not much else. Peace out, L'Millz.

Just don't give him a pat on the head by way of congratulations.

Oh, that's just great.

Right. I just don't see how the pro of the humor value outweighs the rather large con of antagonizing a teammate.

Maybe he, like, Hulks out once you agitate him enough. (Might explain 2004's and 2010's performance spikes.)

If not, now that he's a Ranger, he's got to be fair game. I wonder, though... I'd imagine unwanted touching of any kind that's out of game-flow (i.e., not tagging, sliding) is against the book, but is, say, playing "I'm not touching you" with a runner's scalp legal?

I figure last year had to do with playing in a friendly park for the first time, and 2004 was the result of juicing in a contract year. Then again, last year was a contract year as well.

Or maybe they were rubbing his head a bunch!
