Regarding (7), Alderson has been flying around the country and fulfilling his other obligations as he manager-shops, leaving me curious if he's going to be operating regularly out of New York or not. And, knowing how controversy is made of almsot nothing, I wonder if an issue will be made of it.

I mean, don't you typically bring prospects in for an interview, walk them around the stadium, let them meet some other folks they'd be working with.

I like Duda..I just think Bay-Beltran-Pagan is the way to go and that Duda doesn't fit as a 4th guy. And if we're still pretending Evans is an outfielder, I think he's out of options.

1. Mets in the second phase of interviews. Speculation is around Terry Collins, but that changes almost daily. Wally Backman has surprised some by getting a second interview.

4. Swinging Andy Martino reports that Carlos Beltran is open to moving from center.
   
   
   
5. 7 Train to Shea is reporting --- and plenty more established outlets are using 7 Train as a source and repeating --- that the Mets are putting out some inquiries regarding trading Jose Reyes.

UPDATE, 1:15 p.m.: Beltran feels he can still play center field, but is all for doing whatever is best for the team. If Alderson asks him to move to a corner position, he will listen.

Seems to me that more established outlets have pretty shitty hunches about what tips to follow.
