Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Hanson had his way with the Mets last time --- throwing seven one-hit shutout innings two weeks ago in Atlanta.Let's turn that shit around.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I hear that he was once part of the band himself but was dropped once his older (!) cousins deemed him too effeminate to continue being a member. Also, that he hit and killed a girl while drunk-driving during the '80s. (Or am I thinking of Glenn Beck?)I was hoping to not mind a loss or two by this weekend, having swept the Phils at home last weekend. As it stands... we're rooting in a roundabout way for the Phils to choke out these chokers by Sunday, with a little help from us.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 For the Braves, 31-41 on the road, tonight starts a 9-game road trip that takes them to NYC, Philly & Wash DC.They've already tumbled from 3 games up at the beginning of the month (after taking the first three of a 4-gamer from the Mets) to 3 games down now.Crucial series for them? Ummmm, I'd say so yeah.Bring the fucking daggers.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Crucial series for the Mets.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 A person I follow who knows a fella who's familiar with Beltran's thinking says he is considering playing Winter Ball.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Usually the Braves don't start choking until the first round of the playoffs.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Good awareness by the immortal Chris via Twitter: MetsWFAN Ed talks to Chipper tonight on Mets Extra at 6:45. If you should feel the need to switch to another station, interview will end at 6:51.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Now that he's throwing the fastball and virtually everything else (save the curve) at the same speed, Green's got to be a little weird to face.A nice play from Wright ends a strangely effective two innings for the guy, though.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Carter's in right, not Pagan (for IGT posterity) ... he had a family matter and was late to the ballpark.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Ladies and gentlemen, we've entered the hit-free portion of the evening. If you need to make violent contact with the baseball, contact resulting in something other than an out, please do so outside of the foul lines.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 So we go medieval on Wagner's ass, no biggie.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 That 1-2-3 9th wasn't very Wagnerian. You'd think he'd have abandoned his mates by now.Oh well, O's beating MFYs.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Top of the 9th. Dessens warms up. Peter Moylan (who threw 2 pitches after replacing an injured Takashi Saito) is the batter due up. Moylan is announced, and Jerry goes to the mound so that Feliciano will come in. Presumably Jerry wanted to get Feliciano some more time to get warm as it was a chilly night.Except...he didn't wait for the Braves to announce a pinch hitter. He just brought Feliciano in anyway.I know we've got nothing to play for and there are 45 guys on each roster, but if they send the relief pitcher up to bat, you call their bluff and make the relief pitcher hit. Or you make them burn another guy off the bench if they want the lefty/righty advantage. You don't give them a freebie. Jerry Manuel, you are a moron. I don't care how much of what has gone wrong the past 2.5 years wasn't actually your fault, the fact remains that you are are not a competent major league manager and your termination cannot come soon enough.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I realize that I've found myself lost in ceetar's X files, but I'm convinced that a lot of what's gone wrong --- this year in particular --- can be linked to him. I think... 2010 Mets - Jerry Manuel = Playoff Contender.Go ahead. Lock me up in the booby hatch. Just don't let me have internet access.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2010 Author Posted September 18, 2010 I guess I only win against the Pirates too.
