G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 CPF Nite @ Citi Field coincides with the Marlins' last game in our immediate midst. It's a fact: This will be the first September since 2000 when we don't host Florida...and the first time in the era of the unbalanced schedule. This treat comes two and three years too late, respectively.Niese goes tonight even though it's Pelfrey's turn. I assume Jerry is keeping the Big guy out of harm's way.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Will Ramirez have the orange hair tonight again, apparently an attempt to rile the Mets and us fans.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 They got rid of Cantu. They got rid of Ross. Coghlan cleverly got rid of himself by tearing up his knee while delivering a walkoff pie to the face of Wes Helms. To paraphrase Jon Lovitz as Michael Dukakis on "SNL" in 1988 re: Dana Carvey as George Bush, I can't believe we're behind these guys.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 I've never before been so happy to see the name Castillo in a lineup.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Nice open by Niese. 2ks, flyout and a walk.I'd pitch around Morrison too.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 gah! why was jose pulled?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 gah! why was jose pulled?[/quote:z3e7u0m2]Nothing confirmed yet. They think he tweaked something. He did not look hurt or in pain, but the trainer came out to first after his base hit and they walked off together.I could see Reyes and Manuel talking as Jose sat on the bench but the chat gave no indication where he was hurtin.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Frenchy 2 for 2 with a ribby.I predict in the future Francoeur willclose the season as hot as he began it.Regardless of how many of us feel about Jeff, you gotta be rooting for this.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Friggin' umps have one job do it and they can't do it right. Good thing they get 4 weeks vacation so they can rest after working so hard.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Mets SS Jose Reyes left Thursday's game against the Marlins after aggravating his oblique strain. He reached base on a single in the second inning, and was replaced by a pinch runner. The team issued a statement saying he would "hold off from baseball activities until he is pain free."
Guest attgig Guests Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 good little tidbit on chip hale. perhaps him sending the runners couple nights ago with stanton throwing was because of good scouting by hale.boo on frenchy going 3rd.

Dagnabbitt.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Ouch, that hit Morrison around 3 times.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Anyone see the way Ramirez stared down Thole for trying to take him out on the DP earlier? What a doosh.Gah, he singles.I really hat Hanley.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 WHOA!WOW, what a grab by Frenchy.Oh man, they tie it but that could have been curtains.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 And wtf happened there? That had some good air time. Why wasn't Francoeur under that?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 You knew that Castillo's shallow fly with the bases jammed and Francoeur's idiotic attempt to take third with 0 outs would kill us, I just didn't know how badly.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 UGH!The pain.Who the hell are they booin at there?Wrights glove?Silly spectators.Well this went down the toilet rather quickly.9-4 FarginFish
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Yeah, let's waste a few more leadoff walks!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 This thing went right into the shitter.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 That would have been the time to drill Hanley between the shoulderblades. Orange hair indeed.
