Considering that Castillo currently is sitting in favor of a guy who's hitting .183 for the season and is 4 for his last 53, if there is a tenure system no one seems to have told the guy making out the lineup cards.

Castillo, imo, was coming around to the point where he was hitting the ball as well as he is able.
His fielding was a lil bit sporadic but not overly so. He even made some real fine plays at 2nd right before
T-boy came up. He looked like he was finding his groovethang.
I guess we don't want that, huh?

I like Tejeda alot and I like him up on the club for a few reasons, but I'm really surprised,
being how Castillo was progressing, that it was to dethrone Luis at this time. This does not make sense.
Its like Chewbacca living on Endor. Ladies and gentlemen, none of this makes sense!

If the front office is going into "next season mode", it makes sense.

I have far less resentment toward Castillo for sucking but still wanting to continue his livelihood than I do toward Minaya for giving him a four-year contract that I feel I can pretty honestly say was universally panned at the time by anyone with a lick of sense.

What elseis Castillo supposed to think really? The team seemingly has tried to trade him every offseason and every trade deadline. The fans rail against him at every chance, despite the only real sin he's committed is a dropped pop-up against the evil empire, which is bad, but they hated him before that. He's been benched for a rookie that can't hit, who while might be his superior defensively, is nto without his defensive flaws. He certainly can't feel wanted and welcome. He was OPSing .890 in August before the decision to sit him was made.

The team has subtly given up. I'm not sure they were ever serious about _really_ trying to compete this season anyway. Fernando Martinez is another one. I think there were better temporary options in that regard too.

Personally, I never hated the contract. I figured 6million wasn't too much to shuffle away in the 4th year if he did indeed decline to uselessness. He was healthy last year, tripping down the stairs not withstanding, and it's not his knees or legs this year that hurt him, but a fluke bone bruise on his foot. I get that he's not a powerful guy, but I just don't get why people really hate him and want/wanted him gone in favor of guys like Ruben Gotay, Argenis Reyes, etc.
