Fourth place and down
Losing ground and suckin'
We're gonna do what they say
Can't be done

We've got a long way to go
And a short time to get there
Eight games out
Just watch ol' R.A. gun

Keep your foot hard on the pedal
Mets never mind them brakes
Let it all hang out
'Cause we got a run to make

The boys are slumping in Atlanta
And they didn't help Santana
Yet we'll bring it back
No matter what it takes

Fourth place and down
Losing ground and suckin'
We're gonna do what they say
Can't be done

We've got a long way to go
And a short time to get there
Eight games out
Just watch ol' R.A. gun

Ol' Larry's got his bat
He's preparing to prevail
He ain't gonna rest
Until we fail

So we got to dodge 'im
We got to duck 'im
We got to keep our Dickey chuckin'
Just put that knuckler down
And give 'em hell

Fourth place and down
Losing ground and suckin'
We're gonna do what they say
Can't be done

We've got a long way to go
And a short time to get there
Eight games out
Just watch ol' R.A. gun

When I coached kids baseball, I never coached a "travel" team which had a good hitter at every spot in the lineup. I had to choose whether to space the bad hitters throughout the lineup or group the good and bad hitters. Jerry's grouped the good and bad hitters.

I kind of like that order.

Lowest to highest point value in Scrabble would work pretty well, except for Wright being way down in the order.

Reyes 8
Thole 8
Pagan 8
Beltran 9
Davis 9
Castillo 10
Wright 13
Francoeur 14
Dickey 16

Jerry's grouped the good and bad hitters.[/quote:1dc4bget]

Makes sense to me. Hits are more effective when bunched, no?

If MLB worked that way, Francoeur and Castillo wouldn't have to miss any camp this summer because they would be left home.

Well, technically, MLB is supposed to work that way... you know, with the best players playing all the time. Apparently Jerry has as much "travel team" experience as bmfc.

I think he might occasionally do that, when there are peoples on base.

Ha! Runners on base! /wipes away tears of laughter

That was a good one, Edge.

The pre-G portion of the IGT is exponentially more engaging than the G the IGT is technically designed to track.
