Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I get a little tired of them continually talking about how Pagan just "figured things out" this year. He was doing well each of the last two years as well. He just got hurt.[/quote:2yrinxwh]Sometimes his head was not in the game.I don't see that anymore. He's all in.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Yeah, but they're not talking about his more aware baserunning.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Great way to go into the break. I'm happy for all the CPF'ers in the crowd. And us too!Frankie must have read G-Fafif's latest column as he records a Ideal Save.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 See, we CAN win w/o Reyes. And if he sat these last 3 and we still went 1 of 3 (which I think we would have done, no one else was hittin when it was needed) I'd feel better goin into the break. More in regards to his health though.Cuz right now I'd be thinkin, kool, Reyes was out resting that injury and we didn't get swept. Can Omar tell him to stay at home and rest and not even travel?lol
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I just read that ^ after I hit send and even I wanna jump all over that statement.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Good to see Felicano connect for a hit there. It's probably the last at-bat we'll see from him for a while.[/quote:315265gw]Good call. He's was sent down after the game.

I hear Jerry Seinfeld's suite is occasionally unoccupied. Perhaps they can offer it to Greg on a regular basis?

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Met up with Willets at the apple before the game, watched a little Braves BP from our excellent seats in left field. Sun was a little much; took until the eighth for the shade to reach us. At that point, though, the weather was glorious; I was ready for twelve more innings once it got cool. Thanks to Willets for the tix and for hooking me up with an extra layer of sunscreen.Technically 1-1 on the year now, with five drizzle-soaked innings of a Nationals loss in May sullying my record. Actually, the last Mets W I have in my scorebook is the 1986 reunion game from August 2006. (I must have used a different scorebook, though, because I can't imagine going two full years without going to a game. I know MiniWolf was just born, but I'm sure I must have hit a game or two somewhere between August 2006 and the ten-inning Cubs loss in the last week at Shea.)Either way, a nice win, nice company, nice seats, etc. Headed back courtesy of the DiamondKnights in two weeks, then meeting my college roommate in August.Knew a bunch of other folks at the park as per tweets and FB posts, but never wound up catching up with anyone else, including Greg. Smaller than Shea, yes, but it's still a pretty big place.

The Mets had a very solid win over LA that afternoon.

Since then, 13-0, peaches and cream, Johan and David.Right place, right time and don't get in the team's way is all I can figure.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 The company was great, the seats were great (nice view of Ike's homer to the apple), the sun was HOT, and the game was very satisfying. It was good to see the Mets in person and spend a day in the City. I was amused by a boy in Jeter shirt sitting all alone as if no one would sit near him.My 2010 winning percentage is now 1.000 and will probably stay there for this season.
