Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Oh, Lou Gramm, ye of the gravel and honey vox, please deliver unto us a game-winning three-run rally. Amen.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I'm Ike Davis. I'm your tying run.The spirit of Ron Hodges is with me. Butch Huskey also.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Oh man, what an at bat by Wright.Draws the walk , he is sooooo locked in that its scary.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Time for the Mets to do a little walk off magic of their own.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Bay's gotta start hitting some shit out of the park.[/quote:2f0e7a1m]What he said.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Downhill after the stupid Tejada bunt.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I'm Jason Bay. I too became your tying run. I sucked it up however. Good night.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 At least it's a little comforting to know that any Reds fans watching/listening have that Frankie feeling watching their closer. It makes me feel like I'm part of some larger tapestry. Not as comforting as the middle of your lineup-- Dabidrye notwithstanding-- doing what they're supposed to and kicking the crap out of shitty Frankie Cordero. But hey... I take comfort where I can get it these days.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Yea, boo the umps, louder, harder!LOUDER!HARDER!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Pelfrey stunk, the Mets stopped hitting, but F those umps--they get should get the Reds game ball. Two awful calls in one inning--that's one above their quota for the entire game.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Felt like we lost it after we failed to build on the momentum after Nieve struck out the side in the seventh, and went in order instead. In fact, the team was 0-9 after that, with Wright's walk the only scratch the last three innings.Tonight isn't cherry red. It's midnight blue.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 This game sucked a cock.[/quote:3dw23j0f]If it actually had, I'd sleep a lot better.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I was extremely pleased to see them not roll over and die after the 6-run top of the 5th.I was extremely displeased with stupid bunts (let's not forget Francoeur's abomination of a bunt attempt to start the bottom of the 4th) and bad managing. Full disclosure: Once we chased Wood, I was thinking it might've been good to hit Thole for Barajas with the righty reliever coming on (and of course Rod then hit the RBI cheapie). The "pyrotechnics" show was ok, but not as good as I remember Shea's most recent (2005) fireworks night. Shot them off from the roof and from handtrucks in centerfield but they were mostly the "after homerun" fireworks and not the "big flowery boom" fireworks you would see on the East River.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I had thought they didn't do in 2006 because of construction but clearly a faulty memory (and a failure to attend on my part, too).

The real shock was in late August when I left through Gate A for what I thought would be a no-fuss walk through the parking lot to the subway and it was all blocked off. Damn, I thought, they're really building this thing.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 How about Charlie Manuel? Pissing off Joey Votto just in time to make him take it out on the Mets.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Too bad Mike Pelfrey wasn't similarly motivated.

He planned it that Votto would make the Mets pay for the snub.[/quote:iaoc9uex]
