Some things change, some stay the same.

The Fish don't play defense. That don't change.

Rally time!

Surprised they didn't run Thole for Barajas.[/quote:1f6f9fcp]

Nah, he wasn't the tying run.

Jerry played those last few innings very well IMO.
Even the double-switch which actually brought the pitcher's spot closer in the order - but it also improved the NYM defense, kept Ike in the game where Florida was out of LHPs, plus you were going to PH for the pitcher's spot no matter where it was and if you never got to the pitcher's spot it wasn't going to matter.
He even used Frankie in a non-save situation which is one of the things we've been bagging on him all year for not doing.

Yeah, I think I'm taking myself out of the IGT rotation for the season.

Oh yeah, and how many grand slams served up is that now?
We're going to have to borrow one of those signs from McDonalds before long just to keep track.

Or let's put it another way; have NYM pitchers loaded the bases this year without surrendering a slam?!?

Unfortunately, the Mets can't play all of their games at Citi Field. They just seem to be a different (better) team when they play there. They certainly aren't road warriors.

Just meant that my IGT record's been slightly more poor than... say... PedroDos's against righties (who OPS .780 agin' him this year, and .788 against him for his career, vs. .582 for lefties.)

He may be the best LOOGY-plus-- and one of the top-5 relievers, maybe-- this team's ever had. But he probably still shouldn't be pitching full innings in tight games against righty-exclusive lineups. (I mean, I really don't lurve the idea of throwing Igarashi up there, either, but...)

That was a game where having 3 catchers helped Jerry but having "only" 6 relievers hurt.

I didn;t have a big issue with how he used anyone, though. I was relieved actually to get K-rod out of there. Feliciano, like Taka (and Bay...), just failed to execute at the right moment.

i take full responsibility for this loss. I fell asleep to gary coen saying (I think) first 8 batters retired and thought, "this is gonna be a fucking no hitter i must try and stay awake"
