bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 The good news is that Jerry saved Frankie for tomorrow. Oh, they're off tomorrow. IDIOT!

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 A good but flawed team made worse with bad managing.Anybody who plays that save-the-closer-on-the-road nonsense has to go a long way to otherwise earn my respect. But his general bullpen usage emating from such constructions has been absolute murder.Amazingly, Jerry didn't get to use Nieve today.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Bad team. Can't squander as many opportunities as they had offensively, can't whiff as often they do. Jerry's no help but he didn't tell Bay and Reyes to shit the bed repeatedly.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Bad team or bad managing?[/quote:tc4v1x7w]By far bad managing. Maybe they only had a 20% chance of winning that the way the offense was going, but doing things like taking Bay and Wright out, giving up outs down 1 in the ninth, reduces that significantly. There is just no reason for Manuel to get on the plane back to NY. I just can't handle him continually, and regularly (well behind keeping guys fresh or giving guys days off) not putting the best team on the field.I can't handle him using relievers to their failing point (nieve - 3 days in a row, gives up 2 homeruns. feliciano, 4th day in a row, gives up a homerun. hmmmmmmmmm)the bunting, pisses me off to no end, but especially when they only have 2 outs before they're done. Double switching but giving Tatis the first AB instead of Barajas, and then taking Wright out..I won't even get on him right now for the lineup order, for Cora up top, for putting Reyes third before he's apparently ready, for not leading off castillo.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Bad team, possibly. Bad day for said team, definitely, granted. But what about Feliciano's performance last night made him think that Pedro was good to go for a fourth game in a row?
