ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 John Maine vs. Pitcher Du Jour Ely. I have been wearing the same white crew socks for six days and no one is complaining, yetLETS

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 John Ely -- RHP, 23 years old, acquired by the Dodgers from the White Sox in the Juan Pierre trade, will be making his major league debut.Born & raised on the south side of Chicago, throws low 90s cutter, curveball, changeup. 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in three starts at Albuquerque.

Goodbye, winning streak. Fuckin' hell.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Ely is going to get his t*ts ripped off
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Ely's not the pitcher who's gonna determine whether this streak continues.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Especially because Takahashi is only available to bail us out every few days.I thought Jerry was pretty quick with the hook for Oliver last night (something I was in favor of) -- and it worked out (courtesy an assist from the Home-plate ump). Can he be quick with the hook again today if necessary? Even if it means Raul Valdes or Manny Acosta has to pitch 2+ innings?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Ely's Coming?[/quote:163d02x1]By the evening, he may be wishing Mama had told him not to come.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 The Dodgers GM isn't happy with Matt Kemp:http://www.vinscullyismyhomeboy.com/2010/04/ned-colletti-slams-matt-kemp.html
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I wouldn't be either. Didn't see a whole lot of effort yesterday from Kemp (Keith was on him for this during the broadcast).
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Fair enough. But Kemp is so not the problem there.I hear Neuwenhuis is a real max-effort player. Gee, too. Howzabout a trade?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 How about Russell Martin leading off. Something of a slumpbuster lineup for Joe I guess.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 An afternoon Mets game and some eggs make a sick person feel better.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I'm so happy that I can watch the game on TV...I'm covering in the peds lab this and next week and there is a TV here that has SNY.....Looked like Maine had some life on the fastball....of course it could be the Dodgers were swinging wildly too.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 1-2-3 14 pitch first inning for Maine. Nice start.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 GameDay's photo of Ely has him in civvies. Sheesh.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 How are the broadcasters pronouncing Ely?Is it "el-E" or "E-lie"?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Like the football player...E- LIE
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Maine's working pretty briskly, isn't he?There goes the no-no.
