Ultimately, yes.

Meantime, Takahashi says: Consider me.

Impressive shot by Ike there. Working the count leading up to it helped too I'd say.

I missed Maine going down. What's his deal?

I still think he's destined for the bullpen.[/quote:2t9ub1yy]

More like DL[/quote:2t9ub1yy] his fortress of solitude

Idiot Don LaGreca and his obnoxious Met-hating boyfriend Michael Kay must be disappointed in how few infield singles Reyes hit tonight. Yeah, he's a shitty guy to hit in the middle of the order.

Bay-bomb! Another triple, and that's gotta feel good for him.

With D-Wright's sac, we're going to hear Jerry say "I told you so" with this lineup after the game.

Trying to follow the game on my Crackberry from Fla. It just said 'Reyes pops out to third, Pagan scores, error on Chipper Jones'.

Would one of you fine gentlemen please tell me what happened? Thanks.

Runners on 1st and 2nd advanced to 2nd and 3rd on an infield fly rule pop up... but Larry F. Jones dropped the ball. Absent minded catcher and first basement went out to first to discuss with the ump and Pagan smartly took off for home. No one covered and the run scored.

I am starting to warm to the idea of Tatis specifically as a RH hitter off the pine, he seems to have a knack for that role.[/quote:qvrf8cw1]

That - plus the occasional fill-in start - is essentially all he was ever brought here to do in the first place.
It was all those injuries which thrust him into a 300+ AB guy each of the past two seasons: pretty good in '08 ... not so hot for '09

I've criticized Pagan for his lack of baseball savvy but he was the smartest player on the field during the Braves infield fly rule screw-up.

Coach Chip was on the ball too. Not sure if Angel goes without being told, or at least w/o being alerted to Atlanta's lack of attention.

The Davis homer appeared to hit on the bridge. The only two homers I can remember being similar in distance were Adam Dunn's early last year (also hit the bridge) and Mark Reynolds' second-deck shot in left-center.

Good crowd at the game tonight. Didn't do the "Jose-Jose" when prompted, but did spontaneously after the triple. Heavy booing of Larry, but also of Melky Cabrera which I was fine with. Good razzing of Larry after his first error. Good heckling of the Braves fans, both for the errors and for Heyward's 3 Ks ("I thought this guy was good?" etc.)

Gratifying to hear about tonight's crowd.

Was driving for a good portion of the game, and so it was Wayne-- who was lagging behind the play like a slow stagehand tonight-- and Howie for me. JUST saw the video of Ike's whambam, and Jebus he punished that one.

A lovely evening for outdoorsiness, and a lovely little game to go with.

I like how the ball beat him back to the dugout. Way to go, assistant trainer.
