Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Oh, Ike, I have Met-related-erectivity for you now.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 they'll never again say he can't hit LHP. Had he been retired there, it'd be atag he'd carry all year.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Ike's def bailing on the lefty but gets the job done anyway.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Mr. Murphy, take your time healing.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Getting home in time to watch that inning was nice. Welcome to our new firstbaseman!!
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Davis, Niese and Mejia -- Mets of tomorrow ... today! Great game by the kids!
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Please don't waste a pinch-hitter just to send him up to bunt.[/quote:5yz6297n]Well they didn't want to waste a pitcher so they used Matthews instead.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Crowd has really turned on Gary Matthews Jr.I thought the double-switch bringing him in the game was totally unnecessary, particularly as it worsened defense.Saw only one "I Like Ike" sign but there could've been more. Along with not having a lot of crowd noise, there doesn't seem to be a lot of places in CF to hang banners or signs (or people aren't bringing them like they used to).
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Nice night to meet our latest savior. Whether this was the beginning of the Ike Davis Era or just the night Ike Davis debuted, a marvelous introduction.Agreed with Gwreck on GMJ. Why he should be the target as opposed to almost everyone else...why ask why? Try Ike Dry.TMF and I sampled McFadden's. Very loud. Even louder than Ike's bat, so you know it's loud.

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Pitch count at 112 when he left. Hawkman lives on the edge.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Here is Ike Davis' first major league hit -And Niese on the mound -
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I should use that for his UMDB mug shot.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Frenchy-- who seems to REALLY enjoy this-- delivering Mr. Davis' pie order:
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 The Yanquis did the pie in the face thing last year so I think that means no one is allowed to use it anymore except them. Either that or they have to pay royalties.I'm sure one of the columnists will straighten out the matter by accusing the Mets of having no originality on account of their adopting this NYY-invented ploy.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Maybe we put an original spin on it: pelt any young/rookie PoTG with unsold Shack-cago Dogs.Because nothing says "I'm a winner" like being slapped in the face with a big box of wieners.
