Jesus Feliciano, number 888, which would look great on a uniform.

Innuresting that those gaps are getting smaller.
It took eight+ years to add the 2nd 111 Mets,
then just under eight seasons for the next 111,
then eight+ to get to 444,
but then just over five seasons for the next batch,
then a hair under five,
and more like four+ for each of the following two groups of 111

At this rate we're looking at late 2014 (or even sooner) for the arrival of NYM #1,000

Luis Hernandez wears No. 3 for the Mets but is really Met No. 891.

Or 3 X 297.

I understand Joaquin Andujar is number 893.

In the outfield. How about that?

Well, I'm rooting for 900 this season.

Seven oldest guys in the Mets system who haven't appeared for them are Michael Barrett, Adam Pettyjohn, Val Pascucci, Alex Cintron, Jorge Padilla, J.R. House, and Michael O'Connor. Go, Mike!

Screw it; call all seven of them up and give them an AB (or an IP) each.

Four of them will have to play infield for this game.

Johan better get a bunch of flies, is all I'm saying!

Yeah, I hope Chris Carter punched his manager in the face for that one.

Six more to go, once Nickeas debuts. We don't even need you, O'Connor!

Adam Rubin reports Dillon Gee will be with club in DC, prospective No. 895. Also rejoining club: Valdes, Evans.

Nick Evans, in case you've forgotten.

For the record, Dillon Gee is indeed Met No. 895. He also became the 21st new Met of 2010.

The 2009-10 period is destined to be a hyyyyyuge Met trivia tripwire.

Actually, a pretty light year this year by comparison to the last two. There were 26 new Mets in 2009, 27 in 2008. Was also pretty quiet midyear, with only five new faces debuting after April 21 and before August 28.

Justin Turner, however, likely to be the "there's one more? I have no idea..."

Unless he's the starting second baseman.
