I have no problem believing the president's speechwriter carefully avoided explicit praise of any established PED users. I'mnot ready to bet the ranch on it, but it's the sort of thing they do.

For those of you who may have never seen him, the guy in the Daily News picture right in front of the President, and under the face of Jeter, is Jon Sterling.
Why he is there, in the front row, is scary.

That's not a "snub"--that's ignoring the cheat. Klapisch interpreted it the way a MFY DB would.

I've been trying but I just don't get this? Is it a gay-Richard-Gere thing?

Why not? Goebbels usually had a pretty good seat on the dais.

ARod busted for cutting through the Oval Office on the way back to the team bus, not realizing that it just isn't done.

"He seemed to be making a big deal about it considering he's only been in office less than a year and a half."

Mark Teixiera then blindsided a tour guide on the way out, knocking her to the ground -- but then sent her a text message later at the hospital to see if she was OK.

Klapisch is just pissed that he's not in the photo next to Sterling. He's still waiting for his ring and World Series share.

Saw a fair amount of these termites today at Citi Field.

Sorry, but I must say. If you're wearing the new hat, and it still has a big "New Era" sticker across the TOP of the brim showing what size it is, then you look like a fucking douche. I just want to rip those damn stickers off.

And when these guys turn around, don't ALL of them have MFY hats on. Go back to your cave, you vermin.

Those schoolgirl days of pageant smiles
And lurking 'philes are gone
But in my mind, I see him still
And his sagging 'roid dong

But how to console someone
Who has taken you from cartoons to home porn?
"It happens to a lot of guy-uy-uys?"

If you wanted Dianabol
I would mule it 'cross a dozen bo-or-ders
Drug-addled, on my ass I'd scrawl
"To K with Love"

From The Onion, though I'm surprised it's not True.

True Yankees, Regular Yankees To Now Wear Different Uniforms

NEW YORKThe New York Yankees unveiled a new, lesser uniform at a press conference Tuesday in an effort to distinguish ordinary, run-of-the-mill Yankees from the "true Yankee legends who walk among us." "To have Javier Vazquez don the same pinstripes as Mariano Rivera or Jorge Posada iswell, it's unthinkable," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said as Curtis Granderson modeled the sterile, black-and-white uniform with a large, boxy, non-interlocking "NY" stitched across the front of the chest. "The untrue Yankees will wear a blank, unfitted ball cap until they have their big Yankee moment. They'll wear their last names on the backs of their lesser uniforms as a badge of shame." When asked which uniform he was assigned, Alex Rodriguez cried for 10 minutes.

I was just thinking about that fat toad, and his horrible swings. Was adecent reliever after flaming out as a starter, no?

Whatever brain cells I had that once held Hideki Irabu data have mercifully died off.

BBRef shows him as 3-8 with a 5.74 ERA and 16 saves in his only season as a reliever, which was for Texas in 2002. So, yes, he was a reliever but, no, he was not decent.

Anybody remember Bill Metsiac? Irabu was Bill's white whale. People would post "I met Bobby Valentine today!" and he'd respond something along the line of "Did you pitch him the idea about getting Irabu? He'd come really cheap and be useful given the right role out of the bullpen. I've been trying to phone in my idea to the Mets front office. I called Mike and the Mad Dog and they said..."

You couldn't argue with him on the point. You could only hope to redirect him.

I don't know how Yankee fans can tolerate John Sterling.

Listening to WFAN and they played the 'Yankee Game Winning Drive' - or whatever the fuck they call it - and it happened to be Nick Swisher's homerun from yesterday. Sterling, as usual, was over-the-top embarassing -IT IS HIGH! IT IS FAR! IT! IS! GOOOOONE! OOOOH, THAT WAS FAAAR BACK AND DEEEEP OVER THE RIGHTFIELD PORCH, A TRE-MEN-DOUS SHOT! IT'S SWISH-A-LICIOUS!

'Swish-a-licious'? Seriously?

It must be how we felt when Francis X. was doing the Mets games, but Sterling is worse. Fran was cluless, obvious and had a really irritating voice but Sterling is just self-serving to the point of being inaccurate. Honestly it sounded like he was having an orgasm when he called that shot.

Between him on the radio and Kay on TV, if I was a Yankee fan I think I'd just play music while I watched the games.

Sterlng is certainly worse.

Add in that, judging by Facebook comments last post-season, Yankee fans seem to hate Swisher. It was like, they need a whipping boy no matter how good things are going, and he just drew the short straw.

Sterling should go to work coming up with cute cocktail names aimed at sorority girls.

I dunno. A site that folks here say is gay (see several other threads) should love a swish- a- licious call.

Hells yeah he is. It's great that the MFYs have such tremendous hacks doing both their radio and TV coverage. These Yanqui fans probably look forward to the Joe Buck and Joe Morgan time they get on the weekends, haw haw.

Kay's just kinda generically crappy-- Wayne Hagin as propagandist.

I relish Sterling's well-aged stink the way I do a nice Camembert.
