You know, I don't listen to Michael Kay, and I remembered why today -- I flipped to him to get away from Mike Francesa sucking Joe Girardi's dick this afternoon, and stumbled across Don LaGreca saying that "there's no reason why the Mets shouldn't be a playoff-caliber team right now. I mean, they've got their everyday catcher out there in Schneider, they've got their second baseman in Castillo, and they've got David Wright at third base every day."

And stopped there. Hey Don, how about the fact that Wright forgot how to hit home runs, Schneider forgot how to hit anything, and THE REST OF THE TEAM SUCKS. (sigh)

It seems to me that we've been burned by approximately the last 487 of them we've called for. OK my math may be a little off, but it's become almost automatic when a 8th place hitter comes up with men on which suxx because: - we've been giving up far too many hits to pitchers - even when you do get the pitcher out you've still done the other team a favor by clearing that spot for them to start the next inning. It's one thing to do that move selectively. It's another to do it almost as a reflex.
