An injury or two to a position player, and you're dangerously close to not having anyone to double-switch during that third 7th-inning pitching change. (Also, day off Thursday means no need for another starting pitcher until next Tuesday, potentially-- this talk of "who's taking Saturday" could be moot, as Livan could go on normal rest there.)
