You don't like to see that fly ball heading out to left field on the game cast, but it's nice to see it settle and change into an X.

Eff you on the walks, Frankie, but that's a great win, Mets.

Not Yady enough today. Three of four.

Putting Albert on is just stupid. If we were on the road, with a runner on second and two outs? Maybe. Because an Albert homer loses the game.

But with two outs and nobody on at home? You pitch. Worst thing he does is hit a game tying solo homer, but then there's still two outs and nobody on, and we get another chance to bat.

You don't walk him.

It wasn't an intentional walk. It was a walk.

I'm totally used to his walks by now.....how many today?

whatever you want to call it, pujols was intentionally placed on 1st base. and i'm 100% behind that. i want to play to WIN, by avoiding the guy most likely to hit one out, instead of playing not to lose (which is what you do by pitching to him under the theory that the worst he can do is tie it)

I think it became more intentional as the count went on.
Balls one & two were both close. If he had gotten either or both of those calls then the rest of the AB plays out very differently. But once it got to 2-0 he wanted Albert to chase (which he didn't of course) because you certainly don't want to throw him a cripple pitch

Frankie's da bomb.

Always makes it interesting, always gets it done. Exactly what we were told we were getting with him.

Which is the way these things go.

But if you believe Gameday, he (1) started the guy off with a clear strike that the ump simply missed, (2) stuck with hard stuff, (3) was forced to be more careful as the at-bat proceeded.

He's a hard guy (the hardest guy) to pitch to, with a pitcher who gives up lots of walks, against a lineup that's less capable than others at making the pitcher pay.

Pujols, by the way, has homered once every 9.46 ABs this year, thats an almost scary frequency.

Francisco Rodrgiuez on the post-game is great, they asked him if he knew what Molina did to the Mets and he said he didn't but he assumed it was something because they boo him, when they told him he was like "oh that explains it"

Holy crap! I leave the state and my husband decides to show up here ;)

Great game to attend - had fun with MK and G-Fafif. Fman99 and Fboy came by to say hi (CUTE kid! And no potty mouth to be heard ). A little agita at the end, but it was all good :)

It was great to meet metfairy, G-Fafif and MK today. We had a blast at the park, got to see a Mets win and enjoyed the new stadium.

Almost worth the 12 hours spent in the car today.

And as for my profanity, I am welling up now in anticipation of tomorrow's Yanqui KTE.

Fman will have enjoyed this game, nice one for your first at Citi Field.

Indeed. Knowing Johan is toeing the rubber does lend confidence to the fan who only can get to 1-2 games per year.

Having said that, the most exciting play of the game aside from Evans' hit was the sliding catch by Fartinez in the 7th. He laid out with a one run lead and a runner on to end that inning.

Surprised the IGT'ers didn't mention it, but then I figure many of you were listening to the radio broadcast and wouldn't have seen it live.
