Kevin B. tells us that Tatis has hit into a DP in five of his last six chances.

Not this time, though. He flares an RBI single to right and Castillo scores the tying run.

Did anybody catch Kevin saying the Tim Russert (!) was the narrator of tonight's SNY documentary? After a pause, he corrected himself.

That was a pleasant surprise (no GIDP, I mean).

Nice gapper from Nando assures that we don't get Pineiroed today.

Sort of thing that'll keep him in Second Bananaville.

you know Santana is an ACE -- shuts down the Cards 1-2-3 the inning after the Mets take the lead! He smells a win, baby

Santana may be an ace... but at 90+ pitches already, he won't be pitching in this game longer than Carpenter, I suspect.

Assuming no insurance runs get tacked up this inning, does Johan return for the 7th? (100 pitches exactly for the afternoon.)

You will pop up now. The power of Creepy Sun Baby compels you.

You too, Ludwick.

EDIT: Damn. Too slow.

="Centerfield"]And does Santana look right? Gameday tells me he just walked the pitcher.

He does that a lot, it seems.

ESPN.com says #9 hitters are 5 for 29 (with five walks) against Santana this year. There are probably some PHs in there, and d-bags like LaRussa who bat the pitcher eighth, but whatever.

Thanks for the stattin'-- a 15 percent walk rate is a bit high to give to guys who take BP once a week. Could've sworn it was more; I've seen 4 Johan starts this year live, and he's walked the pitcher (Lowe, Shields and Zimmerman, respectively) in all but one of 'em (the 6-5 Phils win where he doubled).

[NOTE: When I started typing this, F-Me was coming up to bat. The inning is now over, after 7-- ! -- pitches.]

And they fail to clear Johan. Is he coming out for the eighth?
