Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 That's their scorecard position. (Pitcher = 1, catcher = 2, etc.)
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Thanks Grim , I would have hoped for an answer that didn't make me look like a proper fool.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I wonder if Sheffield is hurt.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Fartinez in CF could be interesting ... and by 'interesting' I mean scary.Actually 'scary' is probably too severe a word, but one of the cautions always thrown around the prospect discussions about him was that he'd need to develop a real good bat because he wasn't looking like a guy who could handle CF, at least not on a long-term basis.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I wonder if Ryan Church should be playing centerfield instead.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Rain delay with the bases loaded......the booth going to take calls , Keith loves it.Cardinals up 1 to 0
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 So we come back after the long rain delay with the bases still loaded and Livan throws one pitch and gets the fly ball from Ankeil. There ought to be a law against swinging at the first pitch after a long rain delay.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 You know I wouldn't mind beating Joel Piniero's ass.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 At this point I'd settle for a second hit.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Botched hit and run......wasting opportunities.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Livan, Livan, Livan. That Castillo cannot be kept off the basepaths (on base 6 straight times!) is of little value if you're f*cking up hit-and-runs.

"I haven't seen enough to make an informed decsion." Same excuse kept Murphy out of the infield. These guys come with histories and big scouting dossiers. It's not that his judment is unsound or anything. I think he's a good judge of talent. But absent an informed opinion, he seems unaware of the record.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 (edited) Bases loaded for Pujols.I'd go to Bradford here. Is he loose? Edited June 23, 2009 by Guest
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Tony LaRussa just exploded. Thank you, Cardinals.

The Mets?
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Nice to see another team makes out like that on the bases. Considerably less damage than there could have been. Whew.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Having a hard time imaging Wily Mo Pena being any worse an option that Tatis right now.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Patient, yes. See a lot of pitches against those who go outside the zone, yes. But this team isn't so great at fouling off pitches they don't want, are they?Pineiro may throw a complete game here without breaking 90 pitches.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Elmer Dessens: First No. 64 in team history.

Pujols probably told Murph, "Hey, I'm running now. Make sure Livan doesn't throw it away."
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Welcome to New York, Elmer! Nice job!
