Hambone in the throat. Reyes and Castillo ground out. Beltran getting the free pass and they'll pitch to Delgado. I smell a LOOGY.

Did you think it would be easy? Jesus H. Flores.

That run should be about five more, and Casey Flippin' Fossum should have been brought in to protect an eight run lead. Didn't we see this about 75 times last year?

Jane, stop this crazy thing.

Gad to have three centerfielders out there this inning. We need them the way the the balls are hitting bats.

Had 'em all the way. I'm going out for ice cream.

Was glad to see Frankie put an end to that one before Nick Johnson came up.
Batting AndyHandy leadoff came back to bite Acta there in the 9th. JMO but I think .200 OBA guys should be given as few ABs as possible.

Yeah, Hernandez was wonderful to see at the end, wasn't he?

Goofy post-game questions: "Jerry, you talk about competitiveness. What would it like to have five Johans out there? Or 25?"

The three options availabel on Acta's bench were a combined two for 19 this season.

The gap between Santana and the rest of the starters is greater than the gap between Xena and Gabrielle on the hottie scale.

Hey! That was Kase! And the DiamondKnights!

Yeah that was him. Looked like he just walked out of the bathroom leaving a stinky one behind.

Bottom 7, 2 men on with 2 outs and right hander Jason Bergmann pitching. Sheffield bats instead of Church. Sheffield gets pulled at the end of inning and the defensive replacement is...Church.

Maybe Jerry doesn't realize that Church is hitting two hundred points better than Sheffield. That's gotta be the reason, right?

Also thought it was strange that Acta walked Beltran intentionally in the 8th with 2 outs and a righty up to get to Delgado. Maybe the matchup numbers were favoring the pitcher.

Parnell's fastest pitch was 98 on the stadium gun. Was not in favor of lifting him for Feliciano.

Seemed like a low fan IQ night, what with booing of the wrong things (as pointed out here with Castro's error) and the wave during Putz' big 8th inning.

I think Jerry is going to frustrate us some nights, but his approach seems to be to use certain opportunities at the top of the season to give these guys a chance to get goin'. Some Willie there, maybe.

He didn't have a lefty available, so I guess the plan was, when chosisng between two lefthanded batters, was to set up the double play.

Just finished watching on the tivo. I was on the phone w/ my bro in NM, and was like, "I think I know that dude!" Missed the TMF fam. I'm a douche and deleted the game, so I hope someone else can get a screen grab.

Great game, Mets. Needed that win!

I expected that exact move all along: replacing both Sheff & Tatis w/Church & Reed after the former two got their last ABs. The idea at this point is to get everyone their ABs and Sheff has been having good ones lately.

I hate that move (unless there's a big batter advantage) for the exact reason it came back to bite the Nats: No room for error.

It was against Johnson right? -- I'm OK with looking for every advantage vs him plus Dunn a batter later if things continue.

Yes - D-Dad and I were indeed at the GKR event with Kase and KB. Had a great time, hung out with great peeps, and finally saw the Mets win in Citi Field.

BTW, we found what happened to Doc Gooden's signature. It's in the Bullpen Gate area, near the old Shea Apple -

Yabbut -- there were already 2 outs.

Check out this story about the game. I saw the signs get taken down but 10 security guards? Geez.

Hey, those guys might have had fun at the game! They might even have blocked some advertising. Sometimes I really think the Wilpons are trying to convince people to give up metfandom.

JCL: Yeah that was him. Looked like he just walked out of the bathroom leaving a stinky one behind <<<

Oh sure, I couldn't be coming back from boinkin' the help in a utility
closet or something? Thankfully, for my second-and-a-half of face time
I managed to keep my finger out of my nose!

The Cohens are nice hosts, fun time. There's still tickets available for the
late season 800 seat thingie.
