Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 First Citi Quirk as Castillo trips over a wall chasing a fair ball.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Keven Burkhardt beats all , talking to the booth about the stadium he remarked how he was in the Rotunda and saw a guy video taping in there and suggested that someone call security because he wasn't sure if that was legal.....a terrorist perhaps Kevin....fucking twat
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Oh c'mon ... Kevin totally rocks. Twat?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I like Kevin, too. Watching on the free MLB.TV preview at work. Just caught on a few minutes ago and now the rain is fouling things up.Park looks purty.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Rain delay in the top of the 6th.As Gary discussed earlier, it's an official exhibition game, if it were to end here.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Gary just said, "Welcome back to Sh..., er... Citi Field," and had to pony up 10 bucks in a bet w/ Darling & Mex.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Pouring pretty good, you'd think they won't drag this thing on and go out todinner and regroup for tomorrow's one o'clocker.I haven't thought about it much, but I'm really excited about going to a gamein the new place. Too bad they open on the road.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I can't wait to go , the wife was just saying to me we should get tickets soon.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I went tonight. I had been to the St. John's game last weekend so I knew where everything was, but I will admit to being overwhelmed once I actually sat down to watch the Mets for the first time. There's just tons of stuff to get used to watching and seeing and understanding.Players are getting used to it too -- the edge of the stands on the 1B line took a ball that Tatis thought was going down the line but rebounded into short right.Beltran pulled up on a ball that was supposed to hit high off the wall in front of the apple but didn't rebound the way he expected and he had to go get it off the warning track.Bailed when they put the tarp on in the 6th. Can already tell a big advantage of the wider concourses, though -- during a rain delay.Tip if you are getting concessions at the featured places in centerfield, get them as soon as you get into the park. Lines were ridiculously long, especially for Shake Shack.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 That little jut in the stand down right field is going to be a real balls , Tatis had that and then nothing.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 In Burkhardt's defense -- as I'm trying to figure out Citi's policy on strollers for Sunday, it does say "no videocameras" on the Mets' site.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Right brain Edgy: It's just not home without garish blue walls.Left brain Edgy: You know, the original Shea walls weren't blue. They were....Right brain Edgy: Shut up.
