Real Genius is a personal favorite of mine, and I voted for it. I wish they weren't matched up against each other.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Not voting in this one. I don't think I saw "Sixteen Candles" and never heard of (or forgot) "Real Genius" Is Candles one of those Molly Ringworm movies?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 You were into that chick with the funny haircut, yeah?

A tough choice.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Real Genius had its moments, but Sixteen Candles is the better of the two.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I like "16 Candles." And look for a really young John Cusack as one of the geeks.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Gotta love Sixteen Candles."Dong [clap, clap] where is ... my automobile?"
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Long Duk Dong: Last of the Hollywood Stereotypes?

Ultimately the math-nerd college savant bringing down the MIC and thwarting space missles struck closer to home for me than the hapless geeks of Sixteen Candles, prom-queen-dorking Anthony Michael Hall notwithstanding.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Sixteen Candles. And not only because my wife was a dead ringer for the lovely Ms. Ringwald when we met.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I saw 16 Candles a long time ago and remember it being a pretty good movie, but I really don't remember much about it now. Pretty sure that I have never seen Real Genius. On that basis, I shall abstain from voting in this bracket.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Seventeen for 16, 4 for Real Genius
