Guess he had nothing left. Weird -- you'd think with this bullpen they would have found him an inning or two somewhere in the next week and a half.

Prediction: Reyes signs with the Cubs or the Marlins for the last week of the season and pitches at Shea.

I can't figure this one out. Why didn't they ever use him, especially considering the state of our pen?

This is covred below in the "roster moves" thread. But imagine how bad he must be

Adam Rubin suggested in his "live chat" today that the Mets had a handshake agreement with Reyes when they signed him that he'd get called up. But apparently Reyes was so bad at Binghampton that he was just sitting on the roster collecting MLB pay and per diem.

The radio guys mentioned last night that his stuff - specifically the fastball - just wasn't there.
Not sure why they just figured that out NOW but I guess they just wanted to see him over a longer sample before deciding.

I think it was Ron that said the Reyes had nothing in his bullpen sessions...I think he was joking.

The way Al was pitching in the minors, I don't think he would have received any votes.

That was the first thing I thought about when I learned about the acquisition.
