Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Al Reyes released.Gustavo Molina left the team to play winter ball.Source: Adam Rubin's blog.---This had better mean that Ramon Castro is ready and able to catch 9 innings.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Somewhere Al Reyes is long-tossing with Ruddy Lugo.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Did Al get a game with the Mets?....one game?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Guess he had nothing left. Weird -- you'd think with this bullpen they would have found him an inning or two somewhere in the next week and a half.Prediction: Reyes signs with the Cubs or the Marlins for the last week of the season and pitches at Shea.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I can't figure this one out. Why didn't they ever use him, especially considering the state of our pen?(Merged from Al Reyes released, 9/19/2008)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 This is covred below in the "roster moves" thread. But imagine how bad he must be(Merged from Al Reyes released, 9/19/2008)
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 Adam Rubin suggested in his "live chat" today that the Mets had a handshake agreement with Reyes when they signed him that he'd get called up. But apparently Reyes was so bad at Binghampton that he was just sitting on the roster collecting MLB pay and per diem.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 The radio guys mentioned last night that his stuff - specifically the fastball - just wasn't there. Not sure why they just figured that out NOW but I guess they just wanted to see him over a longer sample before deciding.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Two guys named AReyes would really complicate my Schaefer tallying, so I guess it's just as well.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 I don't Argenis is doing anything either!
