nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Ayala strikes out Weeks to end it! (with a dropped 3rd strike of course, this is the Mets after all)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 7 scoreless innings out of the pen.Who cares that it took them 46 pitchers to do it?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I think Wright gets tomorrow off. He needs it.

Still, I wonder about a 2-day rest being good for him.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 2 out of 4 is good enough. i'm not resting any regulars with a penant race and 2 days off this coming week.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 So what did we think of Niese?Obviously the box score line doesn't look too good. But I saw some flashes of talent and moxie. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him, although perhaps not as a starting pitcher again this season. My daughter, though, hates Niese's nose. It was all she could talk about every time he was on screen. It didn't look like either of his parents had that nose, so I guess he was the victim of a bad genetic cocktail.
