My mind got fuzzy listening to Michael Kay try to figure out the rotations for this weekend (I almost yelled at my car radio "look it up on the internet!"). So Figueroa is scheduled to pitch one of the two games in Atlanta on Tuesday. Not good, either.

Bottom of the second, when Wright hit that ball to the third baseman that deflected to the shortstop -- was Wright dogging it on his run down to first base? I could've been seeing things but it didn't seem like David was going very hard.

I dunno. But the Mets seemed to really jump the shark after the strike-em-out, throw-em-out play.

Wright's dogging it around the bases on that HR.

Gameday has that shot going far.

I hope the Mets have the resolve at least make the bullpen work in game one.

I'm not in favor of trading Fernando Martinez for no A.

I think Matt Wise swapped for Sosa gets announced during the post-game.

Off the subject but Billy Beane would probably take Fernando Martinez for Joe Blanton & Huston Street.. Might help us big time in the now.

Beane doesn't get raped like that, you sound like a WFAN caller who thinks a met prospect is worth whatever you want.
You want those two pitchers? I don't think the Mets have the chips, but if I had to make a realistic offer I'd say Martinez, Guerra, and a 3rd player, maybe Dan Murphy

Would be a feat to part with Guerra twice.

Shhh. Guerra is 3-1 for Fort Myers. Maybe Billy Bean will think that's a Met affiliate.

I'm not in favor in general of making trades in the middle of games.

Can't keep losing to these "inferior" teams like last season. The Marlins are whipping everyone at the moment...

T.B is crushing the MFY's

Off the subject but Billy Beane would probably take Fernando Martinez for Joe Blanton & Huston Street.. Might help us big time in the now.

Boo on that.

I thought it was supposed to rain tonight.

whoops, its hard to remember whose still here. either way, you are smoking something if you think Martinez gets you Blanton and Street. I don't even think he'd get you Blanton on his own.

KC - "I thought it was supposed to rain tonight."

The Nationals sure rained on the Mets parade this evening.

It was cold out there.

First time I've taken the 7 train out there this season. Where's the train platform at Shea!? That was a shock to the system.

Nationals clapping in the dugout and cheering in unison after each pitch that was a ball was just weird. I guess Figgy didn't appreciate it either calling them a 'Girls Softball Team'.

My son's friend got a ball from the batboy - the actual game balls they are using this year have that 'Shea Stadium 1964-2008' logo stamped on them. Pretty cool move.

I'm 0-3 this year. Yay.

If the Nats carrying on sets this team on edge, you know, I'll take it.

Milledge was in the middle of it, the Snooze reports, and afterwards took on the role of the team spokesman who was shocked -- shocked! -- that their behavior could be construed as unsportsmanlike.

Milledge is technically right -- there's nothing "unsportsmanlike" about cheering for your teammate to do well. "Let's go Zim, let's go!" is pretty tame.

Is it lame? Surprising? Unexpected at the professional level? Well, yeah.

Most things that go on in the dugout are fair game. You're not showing people up because you're invisible and inaudible to 97% of the stadium.

The Mets shortstop sometimes launches his own Professor Reyes Party Patrol from the dugout.

If their cheering is bush, well, that's another story.

And the first media hypocritical comment on the issue (well that I heard first anyway) goes to:

Warner Wolf 1050 ESPN Radio and 77 WABC!

Guy was all over Joba for his fist pump last week (and when it last was a major story) and this morning played a cut of Figueroa calling the Nats out, but said "Hey Nelson, they did that because YOU kept throwing the balls."

So instead of calling the Nats out, he uses the same logic Yankee apologists like Michael Kay and scores of media members and callers use for Joba. "If you don't like it, don't (strike out/let up hits or walks/whatever)!"

Can't have it both ways on this issue, either it's all bush, or it's just part of a person's personailty and shouldn't be curbed (and therefore a non-issue for those who don't have anything to do with the actual performances on the field/court/ice/whatever).

="John Cougar Lunchbucket"]Milledge was in the middle of it, the Snooze reports ...

Seemed to be Elijah Dukes mostly. The first time the TV picked it up it was while Milledge was at bat; Here we go Milli, here we go - and Dukes was playing the role of head cheerleader.

Assuming it was Dukes, it certainly won't score them any sportsmanship points since he's unlikely to get the benefit of anyone's doubt.
