At what point do we wonder if Reyes needs a "change of scenery" to ever be the player he was prior to Willie pulling a Hodges-Cleon on him?

Next season he will have that change of scenery.

Oh and for the record, I believe the last 10 months have proved my theory that yes Jose Reyes is NOT a Jackie Robinson type, but is a Rickey Henderson type of player.

Heh, I'm not referring to Shea/Citi. Either send him packing or fire Willie, Jose really seems to have "lost his smile" out there.

Willies has been around winners all his life so Jose should go.

LMAO.
I think Willie will be seeing a change of scenery before Reyes, if anyone needs to.
Reyes isn't goin anywhere.

WOW--what a great catch by Victorino off the drive to the right center gap by Beltran.
Nice grab.

Heh, true but at this point Reyes seems to no longer be the player he was prior to last July. Its even worse than Wright's post Home Run Derby slump at this point.

He's not.
He's a season more mature.

I think the list of hitters I'd rather have (than Rickey in his prime) is pretty short, Robinson isn't even in his class.

Fair point, but as we are seeing with Reyes you have to deal with a selfish, me-first malcontent hot dog when things don't go according to plan.

Robinson was a winning ballplayer with tons of heart and determination, can you REALLY say that about Rickey Henderson?

Yes Henderson does have an MVP, but really, was Henderson THAT much of a difference maker on those A's teams? Or those Blue Jays teams a few years later?

Give me a few Robinson types over a few Henderson/Reyes types if I want to build a winner.

Very much so.

So despite Hershiser and Gibson's heroics you say Henderson would have helped win the 1988 title for the A's? Gee I wonder how he did against the Reds in 1990?

5 for 15, 3 SB and a homer. Not exactly winning numbers right there.

I don't want to "build a winner." I don't want guys who are scrappy just for the sake of being scrappy. I want the best leadoff hitter in the history of the game.

Rickey's career postseason numbers KILL Jackie's, and it's not even close. So don't go there.

I can't take reading this. I can't even take knowing this exists.

I told you it was your turn.

Two Phillie runs score as Delgado hits Utley in the back.

Hell yeah, I blame Steve's post.

My default reaction to any thread involving the Mets manager situation will be "Manny Acta, come home."

Manny Acta, come home.
