Guest KC Guests Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Not digging the canned Ken Rosenthal crap during the game. I like the guy,I just don't need it canned for me on a Saturday b'cast.I'm getting cranky.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 ...only pretty funny?tuff room.*adjusts tie*Im with The Knot.I smell a comeback.Back2back doubles to start the 8th
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Ugh, I thought Pagan ripped that for a gapper. After 7 and a half, 5-9, them. One more inning to do the do.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 We were supposed to hold em here in the 8th.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 It's all over now boys bar the shouting.
Guest KC Guests Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 We'll get 'em tomorrow. I ain't takin' Zach down until we get a W, maybe 2.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Shame on you Jose, chasin pitches like that.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Well, we had sole possession of first place for a couple hours today. What a queer game. The Mets had many opportunities to change the complexion of this game...maybe not win, but be closer than they were. I'm not going to dwell on this loss for too long, but this type of play better not become a habit.Back at 'em tomorrow.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Sad, I thought they had a comeback in 'em today. Oh well, there's still a lot of baseball, we'll get 'em tomorrow.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Santana gets his first chance to be the stopper.
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 General observation: I'm really starting to worry about Delgado -- every pitch in the mid-80's and above, he's missing by a mile.
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Another point - why does Willie bring-in Sosa in a close game, instead of going with Heilman or Feliciano. Do these players have a contractual clause that allows them to pitch only when the Mets have the lead?Yes, you guessed it, I'm feeling rather pissed at the moment.

Do these players have a contractual clause that allows them to pitch only when the Mets have the lead?you can't call for Heilman every time the game is +/- 3 runs, he'll pitch 70-80 games this year, if he'd pitched today and every game like today he'd have to throw 120 games. later in the season you may choose to use him on a day like today if he hasn't worked much lately, but it was the right move not to use him today.
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Okay, but it doesn't explain why he left Sosa in for as long as he did.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I was watching halfway across a crowded restaurant and even I knew that was a clean single. Didn't see how they worked it out till now. But what crap 'piring we've seen this season already. That obviously affected the game in ways we'll never know but I have to think the interruption itself was a great advantage for the Braves.Anyway, I also noted the complete dumbth Reyes showed twice trying to bunt there and think he oughta be traded to the Orioles as punishment. What a complete idiot. As if setting it up for Castillo is ever a good idea. Hello McFly.I missed most of Maine's outing, he apparently sucked bhmc, huh? That Soso struggled doesn't come as nearly as big a surprise. Obviously we need better than that from Maine, we've lost twice, both times our starter didn't give us enough and we had to play from behind.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 When the starter is chased after four, I've got nothing to say about bullpen choices. Everybdoy grab a bucket and start bailing.I liked the .667 Mets better than the .500 Mets.

I wonder what he said. I'm guessing it wasn't "Yeah, bunting here is a good idea".
