Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Lately I find that the lack of baseball is hitting me intensely between 9:00 and 10:00 am. I have Mets Fast Forward on in the background during the good half of the year. These days, I just have to settle for the usual television crapola.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Getting home from work during the season around 6:30 and watching that 7:10 game, miss that the most.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 You know, most years it would probably be the actual games for me, too. But this was such a crazy year, including the little guy's Little League games and commuting to night classes this summer, so I missed seeing a lot of the action. But I was generally home in the mornings, so Fast Forward was my constant this past season.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Driving to work in the mornings I listen to ESPN radio, and all I hear is football, football, football. I don't like football.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 January. It's easy enough to get through October, November, and December, but once we get into January I start to smell the new season and the anticipation starts to build. That's especially so in a year that the Mets have made some exciting off-season moves. This year, not so much.

It's still cold up here, and they're only playing basketball and hockey.Opening Day is where it's at.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Yeah, I pretty much feel the same way about Spring Training as I do about Spring itself. As much as I like baseball I wouldn't want it to be a 12-month sport so I appreciate having an off-season. Under similar logic I don't complain about winter as much as many others seem to.But as soon as it starts getting a bit warmer and the days a bit longer I find myself getting impatient that the warming trend isn't quick enough for my liking. March & April (and a fair munber of days in May) contain a lot of lousy weather meaning that, more often than not, Spring finishes dead last in my ranking of seasons.ST is a lot like that; baseball's here ... except it's not really here, and it seems to take forever until it actually is here.
