Well they didn't all play for the Cards. And that was my first thought too, Edgy, until I looked up Jesse Gonder.

The only thing I can think of is made their Mets debuts one after the other.

Perhaps it also includes the first season of relocated teams, like the Texas Rangers and the Milwaukee Brewers:

Texas Rangers
Tom Grieve, Elliott Maddox, Lenny Randle

Milwaukee Brewers
Greg Goossen, Skip Lockwood, Ken Sanders, Wayne Twitchell

Ah. I was dancing around that. His 2005 Nats are missing Endy Chavez, though.

He's also missing a few Senators, a Padre, a Royal, and maybe a few others.

I figure he's either intentionally omitting Scorpios or something, or he accidentally overlooked a few players.

Yup, and again I swear Ben is really Reed Richards!

Since the Brewers, Rangers and Nationals tend to be considered seperate than teams that just relocate but keep the name (Braves, Dodgers, Giants) I included them in the list.

If you've got 15 minutes some day, write the Nationals and ask them to change their policy and honor the retired numbers from the Expos.
