I'm getting a little Red Sox Nation-ed out, plus since 2003 the team with the longest drought since their last championship has won the World Series

2003 Marlins 1997
Yankees 2000

2004 Red Sox 1918
Cardinals 1982

2005 White Sox 1917
Astros Never Won

2006 Cardinals 1982
Tigers 1984

I'd like to see that trend continue, plus it would cross another team off couple of lists:

-Teams that had droughts of 40 or more years between championships since the last Cub one and

-Teams that won before the Mets last championship (kind was hoping this trend would continue for the Metsies)

I'd lean to the Sox naturally, but really, let the best team win. Should be a great series with two 96-win teams. Bring it on.

I too have a dose of Red Sox fatigue.

Going into the playoffs, I was hoping for a Colorado vs. Cleveland World Series. Since that's still possible, that's still my preference.

But I can accept any of the four remaining teams as the World Champions. Now that the Yankees, Phillies, and Cubs are all eliminated, I no longer have anyone to root against. So it's all good.

I'm in the same boat where I've got no strong rooting interest either for or against any of the remaining teams - which is good cuz then I can just root for two long & exciting series. Or what sometimes happens is that I'll find myself late in the series pulling for one side over the other without any conscious intent to do so.

I suspect I'll wind up pulling for Cleveland & Colorado

After Cleveland beat the Yanks, I have a hard time rooting against them. . but I have been to more Red Sox games than I have any team other than the Mets.

I have a hard time rooting for them. I must contemplate this one.

I'm pretty sure this is the first time that LCS games will have a scheduled start time of 10 p.m.

At least both teams play in the Mountain Time Zone, so it will be an 8 o'clock start local time.

If there was an Eastern Time Zone team in that matchup the fans would have a legitimate gripe. Hopefully that wouldn't have happened.

Cleveland. I'm almost as done with the Sox as I am with the Yankees.

Heh, don't get me started with the whole "Met fan who says the Red Sox are his/her favorite AL team or second favorite team" drivel!

I'll root for the Red Sox because it makes MFY fans that much more miserable.

If Cleveland wins, I'm behind them for the World Series.

Game Two, 1988 NLCS started at 10 PM Eastern. Reasoning it was on the West Coast anyway, ABC pushed it back to cover the vice presidential debate between Lloyd Bentsen and Dan Quayle, which gave birth to the famous "you're no Jack Kennedy" line.

This was also the game in which the Dodgers avenged David Cone's/Bob Klapisch's dopey column that the Dodgers were a bunch of high schoolers.

The Tribe has gone without for far too long. A Red Sox win would annoy MFY fans even more, which is tempting, but gotta go with those who have gone without.

This is a tough one. These comments are mostly irrelevant to baseball and probably, you...

Pro-Indians/Anti-Boston:

The Indians beat the MFYs more contemporaneously than the Red Sox.
From Cleveland: Eric Carmen and The Raspberries.
The Indians have gone without longer than the Red Sox.
Red Sox fans have gone from "lovable losers" to smug.
After Pedro was shelled in Boston in '06, Theo Epstein said something like "Computers 1, Humans 0" to show how smart he was for not re-signing Pedro. That was obnoxious.
I have nothing anti-Cleveland.

Pro Boston:

Boy would it piss off Yankees fans!
It might make Suzyn Waldman cry!
Youkilis is one of my favorite non-Mets.
My son is in school in Cambridge. A Red Sox WS might be fun for him (don't worry--he's a loyal Mets fan).

Indians! Don't the Mets have dominion over the Red Sox since 1986...Screw the Red Sox..they sucked in 86 and the suck now.

Something like that...Still waitin for the puffs of black ash fron castle Steinbrenner for a St. Joe decision.

It's white smoke that indicates a successful papal election.
