TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I make that same move dodging people on the way to the copier everyday. Shake it off, Beltran.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Brian May was a good guitar player ... I think we covered this years ago.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Sorry, I missed your post. Crapshit is not a very pleasant prayer.

The sight lines aren't as bad as they are in some multi-purpose stadia. The atmosphere is the pits, but the arepas -- a Cuban cornbread and cheese treat -- are amazing!
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Ahhhh what happened? I'm following at work and the Yahoo game day didn't say anything about it!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Hang in there Pedro.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I'm assuming by the posts that Beltran got hurt? What happened?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Milledge was out of position on Jake's double.

He fucked up his knee. He didn't hit it on anything and he was walking around. He should be fine, but with Beltran he could be day to day for the next 4 years.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Hit the warning track in center --- which is 30 feet in some places instead of the standardized ten or so --- at full speed, and took some awkward steps before half bouncing half collapsing against the wall.Limped off under his own power without bending his knee.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Thanks for the info. We need that guy!Nice clutch K frm Pedro.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Rain is upon us. Hope it rains all night. We may get our CG from Pedro after all.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Carp--rain delay.What will we do,what will we do?Hey! I know!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 He's done under any circumstances.Have they figured out how to pull the tarp out in Miami yet?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Jason Vargas is pitching against the Cubs. Where is he now anyway? Wouldn't he be a better Schoeneweis?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Seems to me that while games are frequently (read: almost every day) delayed by rain in Florida that they're rarely rained out or rain shortened. That may be totally incorrect but that's my impression and I'm sticking to it.IOW, I expect they'll wait forever before calling this one unless some named storm has suddenly appeared in southeast Florida.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I spent a summer in Sarasota, Florida some years back (many, actually) and as I recall it rained very hard in the middle of the day - every day - for about 45 minutes then cleared up. The same thing happened in the late evening.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Moises Alou now has a 25-game hit streak. That's a new Mets record, folks.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 No, it's not.A double-play gets Washington out of the top of the eighth. Two more innings for their retreads to catch Philadelphia's murders row.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Rain Delay NL OOTS:Philly and Washington go to the bottom of 8 at RFK with Philly still leading 6-3. Howard is 4-4 with a HR.Milwaukee takes the lead in Atlanta 3-1, also going to the bottom of the 8th.The Cubs won earlier today.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 It's a new Mets single season record?....anyway keep it up Moises.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Yes, it is.Or so says Yahoo Sports.http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore;_ylt=AqbElx7305CFNa2deSZacLQRvLYF?gid=270921128It says so at the bottom of the page, in Game Notes.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Wright had 26 (I believe) earlier this year. It was over 2 seasons, though.
