Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2631077I don't know how to post photos, but here's a link with a photo of the new patch -- in addition to the new uniforms for the Rays, Jays and several others...I like the Shea patch, showing the stadium back in the day with the little panels and again with the neon players. Nice job, guys!Maybe someone with better skills can post the photo here. (Or can tell me how to do it...)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 They're not the Devil Rays anymore:
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Link isn't working and apparently they won't let yancy post the pictures.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I hadn't realized that we were coming up on the 50th anniversary of the Dodgers and Giants abandoning New York. For some reason, those California teams think it's something to celebrate.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Yancy it may well be my work PC but all I see is " no linking from this host"...
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 i like it. (does this not show up?)
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Very cool-- nicely done, imo.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Gotta be disaappointed that Drays change their name and look and this is the best name and look they can come up with:
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 MM the logo shows up, Rays look like Dogers training gear....I agree that they could have done better.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 They're the east coast Padres.Moral of the story: when nothing has ever worked for you sartorially, hit the default button, go with deep blue and only a hint of a secondary color, chill for a few years, and try and slowly your identity again.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Wow, the D-Rays are dropping the Devil from their name. I can't believe I haven't heard about this before.I do like their new colors, but yeah, they look like they're copying the Dodgers to some extent.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 put me back on ALL the hats!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 ="Nymr83"]put me back on ALL the hats!'cause that's not racist, surely...
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Yeah. That thing should have been banished decades ago.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 The Rays should merge with the Jays and at least give Bill Saluga's career new life:http://www.nndb.com/people/269/000030179/
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Tampa Bay becomes the first team named after a pizza parlor in NY--and the other 1000 "Original" or "Famous" Ray's."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray's_Pizza
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 It looks like the word "Ray" no longer means the sea creature, but instead refers to a beam of light. (Judging by the lettering on the uniform.)Whatever.They should put a picture of Ray Romano on the sleeve.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Yeah, I like a pizza patch on the shoulder. There is no doubt this team screwed up its look and identity from the very start. I always thought Stingrays would be a great name. If your team was called the Stingrays they'd kick ass.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Chief Wahoo is awesome. I wouldn't find a similiar jewish guy to be offensive, heck I'd be the first to buy the "Rabbi Chaim" logo hat. People need to get over themselves and just enjoy it.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 ="Nymr83"]I wouldn't find a similiar jewish guy to be offensive, heck I'd be the first to buy the "Rabbi Chaim" logo hat.I guess that makes it ok then.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Let me be I guess the first to say that the Shea logo does not blow me away.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 You're saying that if there was a ballclub called the New York Jews, and they had this guy on their cap, you'd buy and wear such a cap?http://www.jrbooksonline.com/jew-bwa-ha-ha.gif
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 (does best completely offensive Zvon impression)Say hello to the future mascot of the New York Jewtropolitians!
