- Castro just recently starrted doing 'light baseball activities', or something along those lines. Didn't sound like he'd be back anytime soon.

- Valentin was just told today (Forgot where I heard this) that his season is essentially over, that the chipped bone won't heal in time to allow him to play again this year.

Alomar went to Bingo for the last weekend of the season, suggesting (to me, at least) that they didn't want him to go far, nor for the current New Orleans catchers (Wooten and Cancel) to miss opportunities as they prepare for the PCL playoffs.

the reason alomar went to Binghampton is that when their season ends he's free to come up regardless of the 10 day rule (can't come back within 10 days except due to injury). Their season ends this weekend, Alomar's back after it.

the 'back after the weekend' is clearly not something i know, just the mechanism that allows it to happen - I'm not sure where I heard, but I'm not just making it up.
