Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I'll just admit it: I like Jon Miller a lot; and I think Joe Morgan is perfectly acceptable for the jock announcer role he plays. National guys are never going to get it as right as the local fans would want it. But those 2 are OK by me, especially since they most often call games of teams I don't see often enough to be a snarked out critic.Jon & Joe: OK by Me.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Maine disappoints me, tho im sure i disappointed him as well when i jinxed him in an earlier post.Note to self: never bring fantasy baseball into and IGT. NAVAH!
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 And Schoeneweis makes it business as usual by fucking up.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 And very quickly, it's turned ugly.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 We're not as crispy as we've been in recent games. Too many dumb plays.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Why the fuck do we STILL have Schoeneweis?!?!?!?

Cut it out!"The Dodgers go home next to take on the Washington Nationals, a young team that's done really well."They're 58-73, a game and a half away from being the worst non-Tampa team in the majors!(sigh)And speaking of the Nats, there are writers out there talking up Manny Acta as manager of the year. I guess the trend now is to be the manager of a team that sucks, but doesn't suck as much as the sportswriters said it would before the season.Because, you see, the writers can't be wrong. So then Acta, like Joe Girardi before him, must be a miracle worker.Oh, and Scheoenweis sucks.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I usually like Miller; he's not the problem for me. Morgan bothers me because he's supposed to be the expert, lending his name to "Baseball For Dummies" and things like that, but it seems like he's just talking just to fill space without processing anything through the truth sensor first.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 The problem I have with Morgan is he says shit that's not true and acts like it is,stuff he should know weather he knows that team or not,Miller then doesn't correct him.LA scores again.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Goddamn shitty Schoeneweis...

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Schoenweis stinks, i have a feeling Maine is gonna be the odd man out of the rotation in the playoffs if Pedro is back
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Author Posted August 26, 2007 We can blame Schoeneweis all we want folks, but this game's on Maine.Too many 2 out/2 strike hits, couldn't put away hitters when needed, high pitch counts in every inning, yadda, yadda. His line's going to wind up looking better than it should as those last 3 runs were unearned on account of the Conine error but that ball was smoked. Schoeneweis, meanwhile, gave up 1 hard hit single and two cheap IF grounders.

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 What I don't understand is why the hell we still HAVE Schoeneweis. Surely there's SOMEBODY out there we can replace him with.By the way, I REALLY miss Chad Bradford.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 The 6-7-8 hitters going in order 3 times are guilty parties too.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 ^im referring to Maine ever being removed from the rotation, of course, cuz Schoeneweis does more than just stink. He reeks of suck
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Tom McCarthy sounding really freaking creepy/insane with this helmet story.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Joe,Peter and Jon are talking up a storm about Pedro.

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Well at least the Dodgers didn't score any runs this inning.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Joe saying there are people out there saying the Mets might not make the playoffs?Who are they, Joe?
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Miller is so much better doing SF Giants games than he is the Sunday night broadcast. He knows the team, players, issues, history... he used to be a vendor at Candlestick...and oh yeah, Blowenweis sucks.
