Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 The predicted New Orleans Paradox kicked in today, as Ben Johnson was pulled from last night's game (and it was only in Omaha, rather than some far flung point like Vancouver) but still unable to be in uniform at the start of today's game. The Mets are playing with a three man bench --- Lo Duca-Newhan-Franco --- today, with Shawn Green and Carlos Gomez banged up.

Guest Iubitul Guests Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I think the Mets should move a franchise to Bridgeport, dammit

Guest sharpie Guests Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I hope they stay in New Orleans. I know the brother of the g.m. and hope to get down there one of these years to catch a game and see an old friend of mine who lives there.

My wife's car was stolen twice in a span of two weeks, one time ending up in Father Panik Village.I've heard the city's a little nicer these days, but it was a scary place then.
Guest Iubitul Guests Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Bridgeport has been cleaned up a lot - most of the criminals are now running the political scene there...Well, Father Panik village is gone now, and Harbor Yards is right next to the new train station - there are still quite a few seedy areas, but there is a lot of improvement, too.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 You Connecticutians may not get a Mets farm club, but make sure you get to Uncasville August 23rd-26th when Mohegan Sun hosts the Ahmad Rashad Celebrity Golf Classic. The defending champion team from 2006 is Rashad himself and his partner Vince Coleman. Other participating Metlies include Gary Carter and Doug Flynn.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I'll go to throw firecrackers at Coleman. Then when the cameras turn on me, I'll propose to Phylicia Ayers-Allen on live TV.
