Guest MetsFanLA Guests Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 http://getalifealready.com/cpf/MilestonePostAvatars/debutpost.jpgDoes anyone know of anywhere I can buy current copies of the Mets' Inside Pitch magazine. I know that a full year subscription can be purchased online at Scouts.com, but I'd like to find a place where I can purchase current single editions while my order is being processed. Thanks,Corey
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Are you in the New York area? I doubt they publish nation wide as Scout handles many, many different team specific magazines. In the area though, Barnes & Nobles carries it. I think Borders does as well but I'm not 100 %I'd suspect most expanded magazine places, like Hudson News, that stock more than just the big names/publishers.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 Steve, the inquirer's name is MetFanLA. What do you suppose the odds are that he lives in New York metropolitan area?Welcome aboard MetFanLA.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 METFANLA, If you'd like to send the money via paypal i'd be willing to go get it in a NY bookstore and mail it out there for you, assuming what you are looking for is still on the shelves. if you're worried about your money getting stolen we could make an ebay "auction", but i wont pay the fees.
Guest MetsFanLA Guests Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks for the great and quick responses.I'd like to accept the offer from the person who offered to pick me up a copy of Inside Pitch at the local bookstore and send it to me. I will gladly pay by PayPal.Just contact me with details for sending payment:corey (at) growthinkresearch.com

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Oddly, when I lived in Virginia I was able to buy Inside Pitch at the Barnes & Noble in Newport News, so apparently their distribution is/was wider than the NYC metropolitain area. Not that this information helps MetFanLA find it in Lousiana or Los Angeles or wherever s/he is from.By the way, welcome abordick MetFanLA. Stick around and make some more posts. You may find us more interesting, more informative, and more opionated than Inside Pitch.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Actually, it may help MetFanLA. Louisiana is the new Virginia.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Maybe it was available in Newport News because of the Mets affiliation with the Tides. If our new member is from Louisiana and not Los Angeles, then he/she may benefit from the Mets' new affiliation. But my guess is that LA means Los Angeles.Steve apparently thinks it means Staten Island.
Guest MetsFanLA Guests Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks Nymr83.And to the people speculating about my gender and location, I am a guy in Los Angeles.I was raised in NY and started watching the Mets during the Tom Seaver, Dave Kingman, Jon Matlack days.I checked the local Barnes & Noble last night and Inside Pitch's distribution hasn't made it out here.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Look around LA for a guy named *Ambler ... I bet he knows where to get them.* Inside joke
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Don't want to be a wet (or Met) blanket, but ever since IP was sold, its newsstand distribution has pretty much disappeared. I haven't seen it anywhere at retail except for the team store at Shea in the last two years. Not even at the Clubhouse Shops.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 ]Steve apparently thinks it means Staten Island.Don't insult my island by associating it with steve in any way, shape, or form!j/k
