GWreck (upper deck), Old Mole (??) and Soupcan (cushy, possibly heated field-level seats with waiter service) expected to be in attendence as the 07 Mets open in Flushing.

Sunny and cold out, fellas. Wrap up.

Seats expected to be heated at the new place in '09. Until then we still have to settle for ushers rubbing our appendages to warm them.

So primitive.

Enjoy the game all you ticket-holders.

Opening Day used to be a tradition with me. I first went at the age of 14 in 1978 and attended every opener from then through 1992.

I had tickets for 1993 but I was recovering from a nasty and long-lasting illness and thought better of going to Queens and sitting in the cold and the wind.

That, and the Mets awful play in 1993, broke the spell, and I didn't even consider going in 1994.

I still, somewhere, have a few unused tickets to that 1993 opener, and maybe someday I'll dig them up and sell them on eBay to a Colorado Rockies fan. (It was the first game they ever played.)

The earliest Opener I remember attending was '85 and I've been to every one since. I think I was at the '83 and '84 games as well but can't be sure.

They say that today's temps could rival '85's which wouldn't be fun. That was a cold one my friends, although those that were there left with a very warm feeling in their cuckolds.

I remember how cold I was at that 1985 game. When it went into extra innings, I thought that the next morning somebody would show up at Shea and see a bunch of frozen corpses and wonder what had happened.

Think I've been to two home openers. The first was won by a single by Joe Torre in the bottom of the 9th, Seaver over Carlton, 32 years ago yesterday. Cloudy day is what I remember.

The other was against the Braves in '01 featuring a bunch of HRs including a bomb from Shinjo. That day was brilliantly sunny and warm, 6 years ago today.

Rollins grounds into a DP with the bases loaded to get the mets out of trouble

]I know Green is batting .360, but I'd really like to see Milledge out there instead today.

Hells yeah, with a tough lefty like Hamels.

Maine, throw strikes.

Boo-yah! Maine gets the MVP of Talk to ground into a DP with 1 out and the bases loaded!

Sweet.

That's a precision jamectomy there.

When is the heat regarding the offense going to intensify where it belongs, under David "Wax Musuem" Wright?

I ain't fer it but agin it, but for all the talk over who's the better No. 2 hitter LoDuca's done a better job of it so far and there's barely been any difference between he and Wright since last July.

I type as he leaves another guy standing on 3rd with less than 2 out.

Damnit, Wright, you've got to make contact there.

]Back-to-back 3-2 change ups. That kid's got some stones.

But that's his out pitch! What the fuck were Wright & Delgado thinking--that he'd groove a fastball in there?

Come on, guys, read your scouting reports!
