Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 From Bob Raissman:SportsNet New York brass will again call on Ralph Kiner as a "contributing analyst" to join Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling in the Mets' TV booth for a schedule of Friday night games throughout the season. One change: Kiner, in his 45th season as a Mets broadcaster, will work some SNY Mets spring training tilts. Kiner's first appearance is scheduled for March 5
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Once you get to Ralph's seniority, who's counting? But it will be, touch wood, Ralph's 46th season of Mets baseball. In other good Snigh news, Monday night at 7:00 we see Game 1 of the '06 NLDS, aka the Lo Duca double tag game.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Whoops. Anxious double-click.

I was there for it live, and it was hard to believe what I was seeing
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I hope they actually allow Ralph some opportunity to comment on the game in front of him. The whole "Tell us about the old days, Ralph" thing was a little silly at times.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Game on tv tomorrow ... fire up those video recorders.http://www.sny.tv/teams/tvschedule.jsp?oid=36018
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 i'm hoping for a tremendous snowstorm overnight, so i can stay home and watch real-time!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 SNY will bump something from its regular hot February programming lineup and re-run the game tonight.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 It sure feels good to hear Gary,Keith and Ron calling Mets games again.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 SNY will show the documentry "The Emerald Diamond" at 5PM on St.Patricks day.http://www.irishbaseballmovie.com/
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 John Litner the President of SNYis moving on to head up Comcast,he will be overseeing eight regional sports networks including SNY.Gary hinted the other night about him and Keith as cartoon characters ,here's the scoop.]The announcers are the stars of a new SNY ad campaign by Ogilvy & Mather, in which the three, transformed into cartoon characters sitting on a sofa, watch their real selves on television. In one, Hernandez raves about his on-air performance, prompting the other two to slap him on the back of his head, which dislodges his mustache to the floor whence it crawls away.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 His mustache crawls away??That sounds even weirder than the TV head guy.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 tv-head guy makes an appearance, of course.i love the ads. they crack me up."i didn't know he had a cat"
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 I'm watching this season preview and can't believe how old Lee Mazzilli looks.I don't mean he looks old... he looks... he's always been like a young guy to me. Maybe its the way he's wearing his hair, all gelly and dark. Is that really him?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 His hair is thinnning it looks like, plus he wouldn't move Wright to the two hole....why change it he said.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Mazzili's long been quite the smoker, giving his face that leathery goodness.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Tonight on CW11 ...."2007 METS: YOUR SEASON HAS COME"http://cw11.trb.com/sports/baseball/mets/?track=navno idea if it's a CW 11 original or a SNY thing...
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Ron wins an Emmy for his SNY work.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I liked the new graphics for the games, but as mentioned in the IGT by some they are very small, which might seem like an odd thing to complain about when you consider how big the graphics are on FOX and ESPN,I did like the BIO feature that popped up on one player during the game.Gary Cohen rarely passes up an opportunity to say something sarcastic about yankee fans.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I'm liking Maz in the studio, not sure whats going on in the booth but the guys seem to be trying to hard to be funny...but it's early.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Watched the pre-game tonight, Lee was pretty good for his part.I dogged on the choice either early on in this thread, or in another, but SNYhas built a good little mix of ex-Mets to cover the stuff.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 This week's Mets Weekly (focusing on New Orleans and the Zephyrs) was very well done.Interview with Barry Lyons as well, who lost his Biloxi, MS house in Hurricane Katrina.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Saw that show, yes it was quite good,Lyons seems like a good guy.Kinda like Julie too.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Even when they're not, backup catchers seem like good guys. They're drinking buddies.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Who was that in the studio last night? Flipping through I didn't recognize him.Matt Yallof is pretty dumb.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 Centerfield wrote:Who was that in the studio last night? Flipping through I didn't recognize him.Matt Yallof is pretty dumb.I think you are talking about Dave Gallagher, did Maz get whacked, any news on why he's away.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 The times I've seen Dave on they specifically said sitting in for Maz so hemust just have some time off. Maybe he's got one of those Keith deals wherehe's gonna disappear every once in awhile.
