Another postseason poll with no "wait and see" option.

My assumptions: Beltran, Chavez, and Green will be on the roster, and Ledee won't.

If you feel otherwise, mention in your responses.

Also, I'm asking what choice you would make. If you think Willie and Omar will make a different choice, let us know in your comments.

you need a RHed Ofer, so Milledge should be on the roster. As for Floyd, if he's healthy enough, he should be there. Tucker is no more valuable than Ledee. He only makes it if Floyd is DLed.

I voted Floyd and Milledge. Even if Endy gets all the starts in left, I wouldn't mind having a somewhat gimpy Floyd as a pinch-hitter.

Milledge is green, but he'd probably provide more than Tucker (or Ledee) would.

I voted Floyd and Milledge too, although I do like Tucker; thing is, Tucker doesn't give you anything that you don't already have in Endy.

I don't trust anybody's bat until he crosses the plate. It's not about trust, it's about odds; it's about the best chance of helping the team.

Bettter than they are for Tucker or Ledee, who'd be unlikely to see any time at all as the fourth and/or fifth best lefthanded hitting corner outfielders.

You may not agree with that, but there isn't "no way" that Milledge makes the squad. There are dozens of ways.

13 of 14 CPFers surveyed so far would take Milledge into October. Unless we're all hopelessly out of synch with the way the Mets are thinking, I'd say Lastings has a good shot.

Of course, it's possible that we are all hopelessly out of synch with the way the Mets are thinking. Or at least, that 13 out of 14 of us are.

The odds of Milledge being a Melvin Mora/Timo Perez post-season clone are next-to-none. I don't want him on that roster.

Is Michael Tucker a clone of Timo Perez? Of course not. Keep him off the roster!

The same goes for Carlos Delgado too, I assume?

Michael Tucker is a dreadful hitter against LHPs. and, at age 35, that's not likely to change. Why on earth would you prefer to carry him over a RHed bat with power potential and speed? Yes, Milledge has been overmatched in the majors so far, but its not like Tucker has lit it up either. And at least Milledge has the potential to do something as a 5th OFer / PHer against LHPs / pinch-runner, unlike Tucker, whose significant limitations have been well-defined over the course of his career.

Jeez, hopefully we won't need him to perform as Mora or Perez did. We shouldn't be looking for lightning in a bottle (and if we are, Tucker and Ledee are far less likely to provide it). We're looking for the person most likely to be most useful as an outfield reserve.

This is wierd, as you're far more particular about what you don't want than what you do, among the available options. And you're confusing what you don't with what is likely.

With the way Floyd is talking he might pull himself from the team after this week if he feels he can't contribute...I doubt he'd do that but Cliff seems to be in total dispair right now.

That would leave us with Tucker and Milledge, the one option from above that nobody has voted for yet.

I still think the Mets will reach the World Series, but it looks like it will be a struggle to get there.
