metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 is it me, or in the first video, do they have the David Wright barehander from last year? or did that happen this year, too?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Sure looks like last year's bare-hander. But as far as I can tell, that's the only non-2006 thing in there.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 I've seen this before, and it's great:Recreation of the bottom of the 10th, Game Six of the 1986 World Series, using the video game RBI Baseball.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 What's the song on the first video?Great video, btw.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Someone posted this with the title "The Way the Mets are Batting Right Now". It cracked me up:From a Bugs Bunny cartoon I believe.

Guest cooby Guests Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 This sweet little time capsule of late '80s pop culture not only contains Keef and Mookie, but four NY Giants players.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Man - I haven't seen that one in years! Great stuff
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 Oh wow... I haven't seen that since I was a toddler!
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 I'm answering my own question. I found the game the Gary Carter Ivory Soap commercial came from:September 17, 1986. Mets win, 4-2 against the Cubs. Dennis Eckersley leaves after 4.1 innings down 3-0, with Guy Hoffman replacing him.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Heartbreakingly poorly raised and exploited seven-year-old.
Guest cooby Guests Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 "I ate several Mets for lunch" would be a more believable answer

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 We HAVE to invite these guys to join the Pool. There's a website out there called Meet the Matts, which has a bunch of hysterical Metly-themed videos created by a couple of Mets fans. Here's a sampling:
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 What does everybody think of these guys? Should we invite them here? I think they're pretty funny. The Kevin Baez interview was great.
