Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Mets going for the 3 game sweep, it'll be Victor Zambrano vs. Washington's opening day starter Livan Hernandez. Also making a season debut for the Mets, C Ramon Castro.
Guest abogdan Guests Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I thought Diaz would get a start with the rest of the B-Team today. Woody 2nd? I'd have put Nady up there and moved the rest of the replacements to the end of the lineup. Why not Valentin at 2B instead of Woody against a righty?

It's a small sample size, but batting Woody second looks kind of retarded.
Guest abogdan Guests Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 ]Because Valentin sucks?Unlike the offensive terror known as Chris Woodward. I understand getting Woody some work, but I'm just suggesting that it might make more sense to wait for there to be a lefty on the mound to do it. And it doesn't make much sense to bat him second.

Valentin, OTOH, hit .316 v. LHP (in only 19 AB) last season and only .148 against RHP.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 A better option is to bat Woodward (or Valentin) 7th and to move everyone else up one spot in the lineup. But Willie would rather stick with his own dumb idea then admit that one that everyone else realizes is better.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I'm going to repost the lineups for posterity. If OlerudOwned ever removes that picture in his ImageShack account, or if ImageShack shuts down, we'll lose the lineups.

(I know, he throws more innings than other teams' entire pitching staffs, so he's of course more likely to have a higher hits allowed total.)
