soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 -Did you know that the part of the Toy Maker in the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was played by Benny Hill?-My mom spent part of her childhood in an orphanage in England. Benny Hill was a radio personality at the time and he came to visit the kids. She said he was incredibly charming and handsome.Charming okay but 'incredibly handsome'?
Guest cooby Guests Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 My mom is a Boots Randolph nut, that's how I knew that. Not sure how she feels about Benny Hill though.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Handsome by England standards, maybe.

Diamond Dad Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I'd use "Pressure" by Billy JoelI think Billy Wagner should go for "the Ballad of Billy the Kid"
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Haven't we all heard quite enough out of Billy Joel at this point?

'Enter Sandwich'?" - Brian Wilson, WestburyCould it be the Brian Wilson.... if so, he may have suggested "Getting Hungry"
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I think someone should march out to that whistling theme from 'The Bridge on the River Kwai'

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I think the home team's stadium should take it upon themselves to assign songs to opposing players. Like maybe when Prince Fielder hauls his huge butt to the plate they can chime in with 'Baby Got Back'. Or they could go with 'Having my Baby' if Chipper knocks up another fast-food waitress and stuff like that.
Lundy Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I remember reading that a ballpark organist got in big trouble when he/she played "The Addams Family" theme when Wade Boggs came to bat--this was right after his affair with Margo Adams went public.

DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 The Cleveland PA announcer was canned a few years back for playing Whitesnake's "Here I go again" when Angels reliever Chuck Finley entered a agme (he had recently filed assault charges against Tawny Kitane, former gf of lead singer David Coverdale)..And I recall reading that a Brooklyn Dodger organist was ejected for playing "Three Blind Mice" during an umpire meeting at secons base (after one of hte crew had to leave for medical treatment)-- tho this might be apocryphal
