IIRC Darling remarked that Bannister's 12-6 curve is not a pitch you see that much anymore in the game.....

Curveball is less taught at the highs school level on up. Aaron Sele has squeezed 15 years out of that thing.

Light at the end of the tunnel?
I received a letter from my local cable company that said that as of May1, the Golf Channel will be moved to the premium sports tier. That will open up a spot next to MSG and YES in the non-premium sports station group.

I can only hope they will use that spot for SNY.

But, May1?

Cablevision in southwestern CT: SNY is operational, channel 60.

Caught a little of the ST game against the Cards. Was that really Ronnie Darling in the booth with Gary? He sounded exactly like Keith.

I don't have Cablevision. I have Charter Communications. I received an email a while back when I inquired about them getting SNY that said they were "in negotiations" with Cablevision. If that's true, it means they won't get a direct SNY feed, but get it from CV. Maybe that's thr reason for the delay.

Better than my email to my cable company. They just said "nope".

Not funny for Cooby.
We may have to put her on a suicide watch.

Nah, I'll get through it. I've gone years without them before :) And that was before the internet

Cooby not sure if you know this, but Comcast are in the process of buying Suscom so nothing will be added to Suscom till that deal goes through, form what I read that should happen in a few weeks, then you will have SNY as Comcast is part owner.

I certainly hope you are right! I knew Suscom was getting bought but I didn't know by whom.

They might have mentioned that in their email. I'll wait and see, but thanks for the encouragement!

Not to get greedy or anything, but are we going to get an HDTV channel from
SNY in the near future? I get YES, FSNY, and MSG channels - why shouldn't
we get SNY as well?

Last nights picture was probably the best I've received this season. The audio/
video quality of most everything on this channel has kinda sucked early on.

My system has reserved an HD channel for MTV & will broadcast home RS games there.

Cool, so it's time to start bugging Cablevision. (again)

Just to keep the kvetching on a level playing field, we're getting an HDTV
feed on the iOHD channel instead of "Carribean Express" whatever that is.

Bad news for me--I just got off the phone with my cable company and we are in the blackout area for MLB Extra Innings for both the Mets and the Pirates.

However, it was discovered that we had been charged for an extra digital cable converter since December so we are getting a $35 credit, so that's something

No, I completely forgot.

We can pick up Cleveland and Boston, so I might still get it for my son, and hope that she's wrong about the Mets. I just find it odd that Yancy can get them and I cant.

Huh? That's nuts! I can't imagine that the Mets and the Pirates have any overlap at all.

You can find a list of blacked out zip codes, by team, on MLB's web site. (Go to the part that gives information about the MLB TV package.)

You may want to try calling again and talking to someone smarter. That's what happened with me. I was told that I was in a New York blackout area, but it turned out not to be true. If I'm not, you certainly shouldn't be.

No, this lady was very nice and very meticulous, I believe her. But I'll look on there, I didn't know there was a place for the garden variety consumer to look.

The Pirates I expected, the Mets I was surprised.

The guy who gave me the bum information seemed nice and smart too. He had me thinking that MLB had extended its blackout radius, but that clearly wasn't the case.

Yancy I went to the mlb.com website and found the page about Extra Innings, but I don't see a place where you can check your zip code

Meanwhile, SNY has struck agreements with DISH, Blue Ridge Cable in PA, plus some small system in Jersey which I forget already (RNC?)

On edit: It's Patriot Cable that's newly signed in New Jersey

Dish Network? For real? Last I heard they didn't carry YES. If that means they have the Mets channel but not the MFY channel, they might be my favorite distributor of programming ever.

Yeah, that's why we got rid of DishNetwork in the first place

I yelled at a Dish cold call sales guy during the summer about that. Well I yelled to shut the guy up over me having DirecTV and Dish still being "in negotiations" with YES, then a little more than 3 years after its startup!
