A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Seems to be lots of angry peeps in the other thread. Like to see what everyone else thinks.Yah, nay, or gay?Sound off.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Two and four seem like very similar choices.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I think the love/like/neutral/dislike/hate polling format is more clear. If that had been the choice, I would have voted "hate."
Guest KC Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I took three, trade is too weird for there not to be something else on the horizon.Yesterdays reaction by some posters was borderline embarrasing for the boardand I hope it doesn't turn away someone looking for news or comments who mighthave joined our group.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 isn't this the second time this offseason that some poor misguided poster has tried to give someone the nickname "the duke"...there only one duke in ny, find your own nickname john maine...
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 This trade, by itself, looks stupid but forgivable, but combined with the other similar trades that our very bored GM has made, it's inexcusable. Even if we do land Zito (which I doubt will happen), we'll end up trading too much for him and hurting ourself in the long run. And I'm not even convinced that Zito will be much better than Seo next season.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 The last two trades of starters for relievers are like a self fulfilling prophecy. With the back end of the rotation now Zambrano, Traschell and Heilmann, Willie might need all the bullpen help he can get.Later

The starting pitching depth was blown up, possibly because of a trade that could happen. Plus, to make the Zito deal happened, we'd be giving up outfield depth (and maybe Heilman too). It's getting rediculous.
Guest KC Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 >>>Name Names?<<<"FUCK!!!!!!!!!" is pretty childish. Maybe that's the way the comment about stuff at swanky colleges these days. Keep the checks coming, pop.

Sometimes, the situation just calls for a good loud fuck.
Guest KC Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I curse a lot - fuck it - I retract the statement.I retract everything.I mean, I fucking retract everything.Fuck it.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 ]I think the love/like/neutral/dislike/hate polling format is more clear.Yeah, I agree. Sorry for the odd choices. I tried to fuse a little humor into the thing is all. And after I submitted it, I realized I had no "neutral" opinion and went to edit one in, but that didn't seem to work.]Two and four seem like very similar choices. Two was supposed to be the "no" vote, and four was supposed to be "I'm not worried about the trade, I'm worried about Omar!" Both voicing dissatisfaction, but one at the new personnel specifically, the other at the guy who engineered the trade. I see how that's not all that clear, though.]isn't this the second time this offseason that some poor misguided poster has tried to give someone the nickname "the duke"...there only one duke in ny, find your own nickname john maine...I'm the poor, misguided poster. And I like calling John Maine "The Duke" and will keep doing it until I don't feel like doing it anymore.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I like calling him Remember The.
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I like calling him "Brent."
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 Or John "Don't Call Me Brent" Maine.Or John "Bangor" Maine.Or John Maine Vein.Or John "Inhu"Maine. Or John...
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 "Ladies and gentlemen, this is Mrs. Norman Maine."
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 i don't know enough about maine to really have formed a strong opinion... i think we might not have gotten enough in return for benson, but i think the trade made us a better-composed team.i'm not entirely sure how that fits into the above four polling choices...
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I've never been to Maine, but I kind of like the music.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 If my name was Valadius, I'd give Maine the nickname "Lobster."
