Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Francisco Alvarez heads to the 10-Day IL with 2026's favorite injury* — meniscus tear in his right knee. Hayden Senger is joining the team and planning on doing Hayden Senger stuff while he is here. * Calf strain supporters may beg to differ.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Timeline will depend on the severity. Mike Tauchman (who should be ramping up anytime now) had surgery and the timeline was 6 weeks to return to baseball activities. If it's a full tear, it can be 3-6 months.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Oof. At this point, just contract the team and try again in February.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Well this is disappointing, a big year for Alvarez
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Get well soon. He was not moving the needle that much
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago 6-8 weeks is the estimate. Per Mendy. Not bad if true. He says they’ll know more once they get in there. Tauchman has been out 7 weeks. Jared Young is set to start his rehab after 4. Fingers crossed.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Not good considering he crouches for a living. Hes too thick and bulky. Obviouly works out too much.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago This will almost certainly mean it's another season where Alvarez will fail to play over 100 games. Only in 2023, his first full season, did he pass the century mark (123). 2024 saw him in exactly 100, and 2025 just 76. So that's three seasons with < 300 G played combined. Meanwhile I noticed that Drake Baldwin, the second year catcher for Atlanta, appeared in 126 during his rookie year and this year has started and finished all 42 Braves to date this season (11 as DH).
