Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Freddie Peralta taking the bump for an 8:40 PM start. We're trending positively, friends EDIT: Now a 9:20 PM start for Wednesday's game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 5 Posted May 5 3 - 1 in May, baby (against two bad franchises) no stopping us now!!

Shouldn't that count toward his usage? Later The Hot Corner 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Are they thinking about bumping the starting time on this one too?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Right? The snow according to the booth last night is coming today

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I'm not sure what the issue is, but scheduling a game for when both teams are already in town certainly seems like the most workable Plan A.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 5 Posted May 5 The rain-to-snow is expected to last until around noon (MDT) on Wednesday with temps right around freezing and a 12 mph north wind, hence the altered start time. By scheduled first pitch (6PM MDT) the temps will have rocketed into the 40s (OK, 40 even) with even a little sun and calmer winds. For the finale Thursday temps should be in the 60 - 65 range and partly cloudy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 6 Posted May 6 It's like when Lou Reed first moved to New York at 19, and he ended up dying there at 71. Cause and effect, man.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 6 Posted May 6 A big night. Mets are within a half game of 13th place.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6 Posted May 6 "We're # 13" doesn't quite have the same ring to it as "We're #1", but you take what you can get. Now let's go get it! LET'S GO METS! Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Just to keep everyone up to speed on first pitch times: - Monday was the day game which was supposed to be a night game - Tuesday was an off day which was also supposed to be a night game - Wednesday is a night game (9:20) which was originally supposed to be a day game - and Thursday will be a day game (3:10) in what was supposed to be an off/travel day And when you've digested all that we'll move along to differential calculus
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Hey! We finally have a lineup! And that two-catcher thing is catching on! METS Starting Pitcher: Freddy Peralta RHP 1-3, 3.52 ERA Lineup: Juan Soto (L) LF Bo Bichette (R) SS MJ Melendez (L) RF Mark Vientos (R) 1B Brett Baty (L) 3B Marcus Semien (R) 2B Carson Benge (L) CF Francisco Alvarez (R) DH Luis Torrens (R) C COLORADO Starting Pitcher: Michael Lorenzen RHP 2-3, 6.09 ERA Lineup: Edouard Julien (L) 2B Mickey Moniak (L) DH Hunter Goodman (R) C TJ Rumfield (L) 1B Tyler Freeman (R) RF Troy Johnston (L) LF Kyle Karros (R) 3B Ezequiel Tovar (R) SS Jake McCarthy (L) CF
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Lorenzen skunked us on 1 run/7 hits over 7 innings two weeks ago in NY where the Mets scored their only run off him via a GiDP (cuz that's how we roll) in an eventual 4-3 Rox win. Time for some payback ... or at least maybe an XBH or three. Mets had 11 hits in that game: 10 singles and one double, plus zero walks and three GiDPs!!.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Soto HRs in the 3rd pitch of the game ... Quick, call time out!!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Leadoff hitter Juan Soto providing valet parking. Opposite field, too.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 And now a one-out triple by MJ Melendez capped by a very stylish head-first into 3rd.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Nice start. I just hope that not getting Melendez in from 3rd with one out doesn't come back to haunt the Mets.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Gary keeps calling TJ Rumfield "Rumsfield" — seemingly confusing him with the former secretary of Defense.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
